Dh and I are married by law but
August 9, 2008 we are getting married in church and then having a reception after.
Since I had dd without being married (I had back slidden ) I did not think I was worth enough to get married in a church.
When I meet dh I knew that he was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and (he was not christian and I was still back slidden) we moved in together.
After a year of living together I came out pregnant and we got married I lost that baby 2 days before we got married and I did not know it as I was not bleeding and I had to get a D&C done. Any way my testimony is long and if you want to hear it let me know.
But after I came back to the Lord I realized that it is important to have God's blesseing and, I want to get married in church and we are PTL and I don't want to use a the traditional wedding march.
Do you have any suggestions?
Also what do you suggest for the father and daughter dance?
And I need to find a wedding song for us.
Please help if you can.

Check out theknot.com. I think you have to sign up, but they have lots of info and music recommendations.
[angelgreen]Wow you have been through the mill haven't you. Well I do have a couple of suggestions for you. My husband and I eloped and then my father decreed that we would have a church wedding so I definately know where you are coming from.
My best friend Kelly marched down to that jazz song "At Last" it was awesome. As for the father daughter dance if it is for your dh and dd then I suggest a country song half the dad you didn't have to be. I took from your post that your dh is not your dd's biological father. If that's true then this song is really good.
As for a wonderful wedding song. There is a great Audio Adrenaline song that I think is called "I have always loved you" Oh and by the way Phoebe you are worth being in God's presence no matter what's going on in your life and therefore I belief the one place you are always worthy to be is in the house of the Lord.
In Christ

No he is not her father. But he has been in her life she was a little over one and he loves her as if she were his own.
She looks A LOT like him when people see us they tell me how much Alyssa looks like her dad and when I tell him he is not her father they are in awe.
I will look into those songs.
I have been thru a lot but I am grateful because only God can turn a MESS into a MESSage!
At our wedding, I walked down the aisle to Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. (Bach) I think we also considered Bach's Air on a G String as well as Pachabells (sp?) Canon. Our wedding song was Steven Curtis Chapman's "I Will Be Here". My brother sang it during the signing of the register, and it was the song for our first dance as well. Have fun making your choices! :D

I know EXACTLY where you're coming from. We done the same thing. I marched in Love Will Keep Us Alive by the Eagles. (Yes, in the church)
I also sang No Place that Far, by Sarah Evans during the ceremony.

Not sure about a wedding march song other than maybe a classical piece (Bach/Mozart...). My Dad and I danced to Most Beautiful Girl (old country song) because when I was little he'd play that and I would dance. And my husband & I chose "What A Wonderful World" sung by Louis Armstrong because we both like the song. Blessings on everything! ~Kerri

I found this song and I love the words:
It’s always been a mystery to me
How two hearts can come together
And love can last forever
But now that I have found you, I believe
That a miracle has come
When God sends the perfect one
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life
Chorus:
I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I would need
Because He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must have been thinking about me
I promise that wherever you may go
Wherever life may lead you
With all my heart I’ll be there too
From this moment on I want you to know
I’ll let nothing come between us
And I will love the ones you love
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I have never been so sure of anything in my life
Chorus:
I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I would need
Because He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must have been thinking about me
Bridge:
He made the sun
He made the moon
To harmonize in perfect tune
One can’t move without the other
They just have to be together
And that is why I know it’s true
You’re for me and I’m for you
Cause my world just can’t be right
Without you in my life
Chorus:
I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I would need
Because He made all my dreams come true
Tag chorus:
He must have heard every prayer I’ve been praying
Yes He knew everything I would need
When God made you
When dreams come true
When God made you He must have been thinking about me
Song is by the Christian contemporary group Newsong.
Our church was very particular on the type of music that could be played in it. I too like Kim3 walked in to Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.

I was going to suggest this song you found the words to for your first dance!
Song is by the Christian contemporary group Newsong
It's just such a wonderful song. As for the march - I walked down the aisle to "You are the wind beneath my wings" mostly for dedication for my dad whom is with our gracious Father now and could not be there to walk me down the aisle.
Praying for discernment for your decisions to be made and congrats; and agreeing with B.J.
Oh and by the way Phoebe you are worth being in God's presence no matter what's going on in your life and therefore I belief the one place you are always worthy to be is in the house of the Lord.
God Bless, Heather
