I have had m/s since 5 1/2 weeks of pregnancy. Thank goodness it is no where near as severe at 16 weeks as it was earlier on. I have noticed over the last 6 weeks or so, that I have been getting better. But, I still throw up first thing in the morning and stay somewhat queasy during the day. My husband and I have planned to visit his family in Missouri over Christmas (we live in Virginia). Up to this point traveling has been tough for me, even short 30 - 60 minute trips. We were able to get really cheap air tickets in October, but will have to drive 3 hrs. from our house to the airport. Has anyone else had my same experience (been sick up until 16 weeks) and have it leave by 20 weeks? Thanks :)!

I've been sick since week 7 with this pregnancy. For ds I was sick for quite a while too. With him it was definitely done by 20 weeks. Hope you feel better soon!

My #3 was my first really sick pg..and it didn't stop until 22 weeks :( But when it did, it was like a switch. Weird. One day I was sick as usual, the next, just peachy.
My others have stopped right about the beginning of 2nd tri. Give or take a week or so.
As for your trip...just plan to be as prepared as possible. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport. Maybe try a few practice runs ahead of time. Just going an hours drive or something once a week to see how you're holding up.
Have you looked into those SeaBands? The little bracelets with buttons that apply pressure to accupressure points that help alleviate motion sickness. They've been known to help some with m/s as well. And that in conjunction with your traveling, could be a very good idea. And bring some lemon wedges! Something about that citrus helps many, myself included, curb that queasiness.

I had severe morning sickness (had to be hospitalized repeatedly) with my first two, moderate with my third, and less so with my fourth. It usually tapered off beginning around week 14 for me and was completely gone by week 18 or so. Unfortunately it always returned around week 32 or so for me. Anyway... I second what Tara said about the seabands, preggo. pops, citrus wedges, or sour hard candies also helped me. Check it out with your doc but he may okay you to take some dramamine once in a while. We had planned a big 10th anniversary cruise last year before I knew I was expecting. My doc said taking dramamine as needed for the trip would be just fine. It does make you tired, but since morning sickness is actually quite similiar to motion sickness it worked really well. I took my trip around week 15 and did well. HTH

Thank you for your advice! I'm really hoping that m/s won't be an issue by the time we take our trip. But, if it is... your tips will come in handy:-D.
