Has anyone experienced implantation bleeding? Can you tell me what it is like? I did not experience it with my two kids, but the last couple of days have me wondering... it is way too early for AF.

I have Never EVER experienced implantation bleeding before AF was due, not once. I always had "old blood" after I had found out I was pregnant and was told by my midwife/doctor that it was possible caused by implantation and was just making it's way out. But, I never had that spotting before AF was due.

I didn't have implantation bleeding either...

I have. It is a little spotting about the time your period is due to start. Just like this last time, I thought oh, my period is starting. But it went away, so I knew I was pregnant.
It is not a lot of blood.(at least never was w/ me)

I had implant spotting before Af was due with our second pg. It was just one day of light spotting. I don't remember if it was red or brown. Lots of women have implant spotting, and it can differ from person to person, and pg to pg.
Is it possible that you o'd earlier than you thought? Do you record your temps? If not, you could just be having a shorter cycle than normal.

I had it with my 1st pg. mine was a little earlier then AF (like maybe a week) It was that light brown blood and just enough that I thought I just had a light period for a day (I have short Af). I think implantation bleeding happens 10-14 days before you can get a BFP on a HPT, if I remember right from TCOYF

JRBL... "old blood" is how I would describe what I am experiencing, but again, too early for AF so I am confused...
Skunkers...It is not a lot of blood, but I am still not sure because AF isn't due for at least 10 days.

Amber, I have no idea, i don't record my temps. Dh and I were not 'officially' going to start trying until December, just not doing much to prevent it, kwim? ; )

savedNgrace...the last two days...although VERY minimal. Only later in the day. I haven't noticed it yet today.

When I *did* have my "old blood" it was brownish/pink and I DO remember thinking, "uh oh" that I was miscarrying, but it slowed down and went away, and when I went in to the dr. office they did ultrasounds and all that fun stuff and everything was honky dory... so... ::shrugs:: I don't know why I have mine so much later than you other "implantation bleeding" gals, I always thought it was weird...

Implantation can be 7-10 days after conception (does that help?)

I am also on a charting website, and many woman get a BFP (big fat positive) a day or so AFTER their implant spotting or dip, but since you don't chart, you wouldn't know if you had a dip! ;-) I would wait until you think AF is late, if it comes late and test, but you never know, you could be showing hCG already!

Hee-hee....7-10 days is text book. We humans are not textbooks, so it is just a approx. I will use myself for an example.
We concieved the evening of Aug 25th. I had my implantation bleeding (Sept. 9th)the day after my period was due to start. Not text book but that is how it happened.

I actually have one at home already....just don't want to 'waste' it and have to go buy another one next week, kwim? Wouldn't it be too early right now?

They have tests out that can tell you several days prior to the date of your next period. But I do hear you. If it is not time yet, then no....wait. You can get a false negative. it is better to wait & know for sure.(unless you want to spend the exrta $ on one of those early pregnancy tests)
I must have misunderstood you, I'm sorry, I thought you were ready to test since you thought you had implantation.

I think you are right to wait until after you would have 'thought' you would start AF....to get a good, clear, accurate read...even from an early detection test..... ;-)
