I totally need some advice on how to get Micah settled at night. He keeps taking this weird spell in the middle of the night. He'll wake up to be fed, so I pop him on and he feeds and falls asleep, so I put him down and as soon as I put him down he is grunting for more food. So I pop him back on. This goes on for about 4-5hours a night, I didn't get to sleep until 7am this morning! Most of the time he is actually taking milk, but some of the time he is using me as a comforter. I'm at a loss of what to do bcuz not getting to sleep until 7am is starting to take it's toll. I've tried rocking him, swaddling him, him sleeping with us, and I've even tried him with a pacifier (which I didn't want to do) but he gags on it so that idea is out the window. Is there something I'm missing? Any advice....anyone??? I suppose I could just sleep sitting up for the rest of my life but I'm not really wanting a crooked neck, ya know? *sarcastic smile*

I remember that Gracie did this when she was a newborn. I just nursed her laying on my side and sometimes we both drifted off to sleep this way...she slept with us most of the time anyways so it worked. Hang in there, mom! You're doing a great job! It takes a while to get settled into a night routine.

I remember that being a really hard time, too. It seems like it will never end, but it does. I agree that maybe nursing him in your bed may help you both for a while.
Sleep as much as you can during the day! I will pray for you during this time...

Probably hitting a growth spurt time.
I sleep with mine from the beginning..so..they've just always slept right at my side. They'd stir, I'd roll over and get them latched on and we'd both drift back to sleep. That was our cycle. All night. Sometimes that meant they went through periods of waking every 1.5 hr. Sometimes more comfort than food. But, oh well. We just stayed in bed and drifted off and it all worked out in the end.
Hang in there and know this will pass : )
I did the same thing as Tara and ds was quite the eater! I know there were nights when he was eating every hour but if you get him on go back to sleep you actually wake up feeling somewhat rested. Good luck!

Owen did this too, usually during a growth spurt...I nursed on our couch which reclined and we'd both drift off and we'd stay there all night while he took nips and slept off and on. It is tiring, but this way, we'd both get some sleep and he'd get to eat. My back suffered a little, but I could handle that better than less sleep. Hang in there, he will get through this phase.
