View Full Version : Been MIA
Abby had Tonsillitis from Sunday afternoon (guess) up to yesterday so I have been busy taking special care of her...
This is her first illness in her 2 years of life so I can't complain...
She has finished her antibiotics now... so hopefully she is all better.
We had to take her to the hospital on Tuesday morning because she was screaming her head off and had a fever. And I thought she had an earache but it turned out it was Tonsillitis.
I know what it's like... I used to get it all the time as a kid. I am sure she enjoyed her icecream and treat foods because she couldn't eat anything hard.
The poor kid! It's so awful when they are that small and they can't define exactly what the problem is for you isn't it? Makes you feel so helpless.
GLad things are on the mend.
Yes exactly. I had no idea what was wrong with her...
She was just upset and had a fever and she kept saying "ouch". I can't wait until she is talking so she can tell me exactly what is wrong.
She was sick for 1 1/2 days before we took her to the hospital...
I thought maybe she was just teething or had a tummy ache/constipation.

I had been wondering where you had got to Renee. Poor Abby, its just terrible when they are sick isn't it? Joshua has also had a hard time with illness so far this winter - he has had two bad colds and needed antibiotics for the first time in his life to get rid of a dreadful cough that went on for weeks. I think that the particularly cold, wet weather is proving to be a great breeding ground for all those winter bugs.
Yes Winter is terrible...
The doctor assured us that Tonsillitis is NOT contagious but I don't know what to believe anymore... I was always told it is not contagious. Then when I had it last, my doctor said it IS contagious. And then again I get told no it's not contagious. And then I found an article on the internet that says it is ... I give up! I have been treating her as contagious anyway and I bought a new toothbrush for her.
I used to get Tonsillitis a lot as a kid. And my sister did too.
I have to think it would be contagious... it's bacterial.
Oh well.........
I would think it was contagious too!
We had a bad winter last winter so I am going to invest in a multivitamin for the kids - it's such a battle to get the littlies to eat healthy food so I think it's a wise investment to fortify them against bacteria.
Yeah I might get something for Abby...
I have always found that just taking Vitamin C every day has stopped me from getting sick in Winter.
