View Full Version : Which do you read more? imported_rachel 04-05-2006, 06:42 PM Be honest  mommyb 04-05-2006, 06:54 PM I do read books by Christian authors more than the Bible  04-05-2006, 11:39 PM I'd say its a toss 50/50...I try to read a little of both...I'm not a daily Bible reader though I should be but I don't always have time to curl up with a good Bible based book either...So yeah its half and half.. rocking baby 04-07-2006, 11:06 PM I say 50/50.my dh and I just started a 90 day bible...and bought a few christian books on the side...reading 12 pages of the bible in a day is proving to be hard for me..but i do the best i can.. Timmys mom 04-11-2006, 11:44 AM i honestly do spend more time reading Christian books then the Bible, I can curl up with a good book for hours. But I read a chapter or more of the Bible every day. (or at least almost every day, occationally I may miss a day.) mamaroo 04-15-2006, 09:11 PM I use a bible study book and I try to read my bible every day. Occasionally I read a novel or biography, but only if someone lones or gives it to me. mama4ever 04-25-2006, 08:04 AM It is about equal between the Word and Christian books. Couldn't stop reading the Left the Behind series. [angel] MomofFaith 08-13-2006, 03:46 PM I read the Bible more...but I am reading a great book. For women only...It's VERY insightful into our men... luvmy4sons 08-13-2006, 03:48 PM I read the Bible along with Christian devotionals. Then Christian novels. But the devotinals are short. So Bible might win out. I dont' have a lot of time for novels. justmeNmine 08-13-2006, 05:20 PM The Bible; the price of Christian books is prohibitive to reading many of them- I have thought of going to the library and taking some out, but haven't yet... Sometimes, the marketing of Christian material makes me feel as though Christianity is for sale, but that's a different topic altogether  mamallama 08-13-2006, 06:41 PM I really don't have much time to read anything. But to be perfectly honest, the books I read to my three-year-old are the things I read the most, then the Bible (more online than the book), and then occasionally I'll read a few magazines: Christian Woman, Shop Etc., American Baby, things like that.... I read the Bible more...but I am reading a great book. For women only...It's VERY insightful into our men... Do tell. PATTIPEANUT 08-21-2006, 11:35 AM I definitely would say I do a 50/50 split between the Bible and books by Christian authors. For example, last week I was reading my bible along with reading extra verses to go with the book "The Power of a Praying Woman", but I also read some more of the bible to go with the God and Me series for cub scouts because my husband and I are getting ready to start that program with our children and any other scouts who may want to participate. But then I also took some time to read a SISTERCHICK novel along with a book "The YadaYada Prayer Group", which I found really supported my ideals of what I would like my Christian life and circle and friends to be. |
