I saw this the other day and was horrified. It seems that everything is facing recall now. This recall goes all the way back to 1998... really? It took that long to figure out something was wrong? We still have the crib up in the attic (since we're using the arm's reach bassinet for at least the first 3 months), but I'm pretty sure it is not one of these.

Concerning recalls, my bottles have not yet been recalled, but the study we saw on here some about a chemical being released in plastic bottles has resurfaced. In an article posted on the day Daniel was born, my favorite bottle system (Avent) was mentioned as a possible danger again. :/ I am more than a bit frustrated, and would like if they posted definite information about the bottles, not speculation. I have a little bit of time, as Daniel will not need to use a bottle until I go back to work in late October.

davidsmommy, do you have any links about the plastic bottle thing? I'd like to look into it if you have any info... i hadn't heard anything about that previously but if our bottles are affected I want to know about it!

Well, the crib that my parents bought for Rhyanne looks like it is one of the recalls. However, it is now converted to a toddler bed so I don't think there is a problem with keeping it around.

Don't worry about it. (Big hug) It's just good to be informed about faulty and unsafe products.

If I'm reading it correctly, the article said that in all three cases, the crib drop rail was installed upside down. So, if you have this crib just double check to make sure you assembled it correctly!

We have the Witney crib in that recall. In our case, ours was one that the screws would not "hold" to the crib. They weren't too small. Something was wrong. Some of the brakcets were messed up too.

My dh fixed it his own way, and the way he is with our kids, I wasn't worried. But, Bri was going to move up to a big boy bed soon anyway, so we just took the crib down and put Bri into a bigboy bed last night. (read the recall at 1:00 p.m., had Bri in a twin bed, and Patrick in Bri's crib by 10:00 p.m.)

This recall scared me, as well. We have the Simplicity 4-in-one crib, but ours wasn't one included on the recall. However, it still scares me because how sure are they that the one we have IS safe, you know?! I checked our crib rail, it is installed correctly, and the hardware on ours matches the "safe" hardware posted on Simplicity's website.

You just can't be too careful anymore, I guess!

We bought a similar one by Graco when ds was born back in 2004, that one was recalled also. Good thing is we ended up co-sleeping when he was 4 weeks b/c we never got any sleep. As soon as we put him down 5 minutes later he would be back up screeming.
We just put it out for the trash guy to pick up, we also put a sign on it saying "Recalled item do not take home," in case someone came by wanting it.
