I made mac n chesse from scratch last night and at the last minute decide to puree some cooked broccoli to add to the sauce since my youngest dd won't eat any veggies. Looking at it with little green specks, I decided to tell her we were having mac n cheese with sprinkles! She looks at it wide wide eyed and takes a couple of bites. Well, she didn't finish it all, but at least she ate some  She was more interested in the chicken. Not sure if she bought into the sprinkles bit, but you can't blame me for at least trying. BTW, my 6 year old loved it and asked for seconds. :D

I love the sprinkle idea.
I have mixed pureed squash in the mac n cheese to help the little guy (16 months) I babysit eat some veggies. He didn't even notice. Mac n cheese is his fav and it didn't look much different so he just gobbled it right up.

I used to puree veggies all the time with my first and it seemed to work. Zuccinni worked the best. I haven't been doing it so much with #2, I guess I've just gotten a bit lazy
I thought this was just cute. Angela loves veggies so we never had this problem, but that sure would have been a neat idea back in my daycare days..So creative! Can you imagine writing a little idea book? I used to have a healthy eating for kids book that had imaginative ideas but that mac w/ sprinkles wasn't in it.
It is a good idea! I have the same veggie problem with my kids in that they will only eat potato!!!
My sister gave me a tip to make hamburger patties or meatballs from mince meat and hide shredded carrot, beetroot etc in them
BUT... I had a breakthrough last week when I made cream of broccoli soup and the kids ATE IT.... they really enjoyed it to. They will also eat pumpkin soup....
How clever! I think I would have been with your youngest DD adn passed on it, but maybe not! Good try mom [clapping]
