Ok, so I took Emma to the doctor for her 2 year check up. I knew she had grown quite a lot after my milk came in when Noah was born, but WOWIE!! She's in the 98th percentile in height and weight. (where's the shocking looking smilie when you need it?)
My "little girl" is just shy of 38 inches, and weighs in at 34.4lbs. I know she isn't the biggest kid around, but she literally grew 3 inches in 6 months! How great did our Lord make our bodies? To go through such amazing leaps and bounds....breath taking!

So, where did or does your toddler fit on the "scale of life?"
Also, anyone believe in that, double your kids height at 2 and you will see how tall they will be in life? If that works, Emma will be 6'4"....I don't think so! haahaa

Blessings,
Amber

Yes, it is quite amazing how God takes us through the growing process, sometimes ever so slow, sometimes superfast!

I'm well familiar with the 98+ percentile, as that's where David's been his whole life. My DH was taller than his mom in very early elementary... David's well on his way.

My kids have always been in the 98+. In fact, I think that they are more like 110th...

My dd is 5 years old, she is almost 4 feet tall and weighs 70 pounds...but, there is another girl in the kindergarden class that is almost the same size, of course she just turned 6, dd won't be 6 till April....

That is amazing! My dd is 2 1/2 and she only weighs 24 pounds. Praise God for a happy, healthy toddler!

Sounds like you have a healthy little girl there! When we had our youngest ds weighed for his WIC check up he was just around the 18 month mark and he also was in the 99 percentile.

At his 3yr check in June, Matthew was 42 pounds (off the % chart) and was 40 inches tall (95th %). He gets mistaken for 4 or 5 all of the time!!

It's amazing the way that God designs us all so uniquely! My poor 11 yo DD is always being mistaken for the "younger" sister of my 9 yo DD who is a few inches taller and about 15lbs heavier than she is. Our 5 yo is also very petite for her age. She's about 40 inches or so and weighs only 37lbs. Zoe Kate born in May started off really small (4lbs, 11 oz) but quickly seems to be catching up to her peers. We ran into someone at church this week born two days before her and he really didn't seem that much bigger. I think in our case some favor my husbands side (all of the women are very small framed) and the others favor my side and have larger builds. Praise the Lord for a very healthy toddler!

Sineads weighs around 2 stone and it small for her age, she is 4 now and in some clothes shops she is still in size 18-24 months. We have trousers that are a size 2-3 years and they are still too big. She is not the smallest in her class I think she is the second smallest, although the smallest boy is yonger. The doctors raised the issue of her height last time she was at the hospital they are a little concerned not overly.

Sorry my post was a bit ling here. (blush)

Matthew will be 4 in November and only weighs 36 pounds. Hmmm...not sure how tall he is now. My mom has been keeping a chart for me, but I don't remember exact measurement. He's in the 60% for his age range, I do remember that from his last doc visit a couple months ago. Yep, he doesn't have an ounce of fat on him. But when he does his muscle man pose for us, you can actually see his arms are "cut"! I swear, he looks like he works out! He's just constantly running. He eats like a horse, he just has great metabolism. Sure wish I had some of it!! Hehe!!!

Our eldest son has always been 98th percentile, or higher, lol. Our second son is usually around the 95th.

On our eldest son's 2nd birthday, he was 3ft 2in too! The early childhood nurse said that with his height, and also the rate he was growing, we'd be looking at between 6ft4in - 6ft6in *insert shocked smiley*. He will be 9 in December, and is wearing a size 6 sneaker, lol. He grew about 1.5 - 2 inches between Feb and Aug this year, and our younger son grew about the same!

I often joke with dh that when these boys hit their teenage years I'll have to go back to work, and my entire salary will go just on groceries for the boys, lol.

Oh, I meant to add this -

Our early childhood nurse said that when working out their adult height, you double their height at 2 yrs for boys, but at 18 months for girls. My mum said that made sense, because at my 2 year checkup, I was 3ft tall. Trust me, I'm nowhere near 6 ft now! About 5ft 5in actually, lol.

Ok, it took me two seconds to remember that Emma grew three inches since she was 18 months old...so in theory she will be.....70 inches.....5'8"...just like Momma! :-D

My first daughter has always been high on the charts, but my second one is OFF the charts. In fact, she's two years younger than her sister and weighs only about 10 pounds less.

I don't even want to think how big they'll be when they're older!!! I think I smell basketball in their future, though. (Or football! lol)

Wow, my daughter is 25 months and she's only 24 lbs. She's in the 15th percentile for weight and 50% for height (can't remember how tall she is) But the amazing thing is, 24 month clothes fit her perfectly. So I can only imagine what size your daughter's in, buttercup. The clothing industry needs to keep up with the times.

I was just looking at my oldest daughter's school scrapbook, she is wearing a pretty blue shirt with butterlfies on it in her second grade picture. She was always at least in the 75th % group. Then I turn around and realize that my 4 yr. old daughter is wearing that very shirt (and it fits!). Something else that is funny is that my 3 oldest have always been big kids. They are all picky eaters. Now I have baby #4 who eats everything and is by far the smallest in the bunch! I guess you just never know.
