good luck! Wow, your doc does early ultrasounds! Our OB's in MO doesn't do them until at least 20 weeks and usually 22-24 for accuracy! Wish we didn't have to wait so long in the game! have fun! There's not much better than seeing that up close shot for the first time!

I had to wait until I was 20 weeks (and five days actually). They only do an u/s here in S/W Mo if there is a problem early.
I probably won't get another one either (our crazy insurance was supposed to have paid for one, but they decided we had to pay for it ourselves, and they sure aren't cheap).
Let us know, we are all curious.

How neat! Wow that is early to find out, but I would have loved to have known that early. I was like the others, at least 20 weeks to find out mine. And they were right with every ultrasound. My first was my only suprise because I wanted it to be a suprise.
Can't wait for your update!!!!
Wowza did they tell you they should be able to tell the sex? Because that is early hun. :( I had mine at 18 weeks and so many days. Sometimes they can't even tell then.
I'll pray that you can tell though. :D Best wishes!!! I'll send you lots of baby girl dust.

Wow!! That's soooo exciting isn't it!
They told me that I had to do mine at 20 weeks also, but Ooops  , somehow the good ol' RESIDENT (which I did not know) Doctor, missed an entire month out of my pregnancy and I had it done at 25 weeks instead. I went in at 20 weeks realllly looking forward to it, only to be told, I had to wait until my next visit, and then finding out at my next visit that I could have done it 5 weeks ago, needless to say, this pg woman was NOT happy!!
Anyway, I'm doing a happy dance for you!! Goood Luck!

We're having a GIRLY GIRLY!!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
We are SO excited!!! I'm so sorry to keep you ladies waiting, I almost forgot to tell you!!! Sorry! And yes, that was a very early U/S for determining the sex, but we had a very high resolution U/S (by request) and our tech was about 95% certain that it's a girl. We go back at 20 weeks for another, so we'll know 100% then, but they said they were pretty dang sure! We feel so blessed to be having a baby girl...
Thanks for all the sweet comments!

Amanda
I had a very high resolution U/S and 3D at 18 1/2 weeks and determined the sex clear as day (I could even see the little vagina myself).
It's fun isn't it? Congratulations.

I so wish we could have gotten a 3D U/S! But the normal ones are free but if you want the 3D one you have to pay for it :(

And thanks for the congrats, we're SO SO excited and feel so blessed!!!
Renee... we really didn't have the money for it either, medicare covers a certain amount - I think we paid 160.00 and we got about 70.00 back from medicare. I just wanted to find the money (fiddled some bills around, ect) but the thing is - they HARDLEY use the 3D feature, seriously... most of it was a regular ultrasound and then they turned 3D on for probably 5 minutes, I assumed the whole thing would be 3D. The 3D looks great but the baby looks like an alien or something because it picks up an awful lot of shadow and lumps and bumps that really aren't there. It's also really jerky on the screen, like when you are running a programme which your computer is not cabable of running it.
Hey... so Amanada - A NAME? I absolutely LOVE the name Ashton, when we weren't sure what we were having I wanted the baby to be Ashton if it was a boy but DH has a thing about names beginning with "ASH"
And isn't it funny how even when you have had a high resolution or the doctors are 95% sure what the sex of our babies are yet people still want to contradict or say "Don't be too sure"... I know people have mistakes made in sex determination but it is RARE - they are 95% accurate after 20 weeks. I asked one tech how people make those kind of mistakes and she was quite snobby and said "because some people shouldn't be allowed near an ultrasound machine" LOL LOL... catty or what! MEOW!

Yeah I guess we could have got 3D... I wasn't sure how much it was though and I didn't know if we could get any money back on it or not... well, if we ever do have another baby then we'll get 3D.
We definitely cannot afford it now though... I don't even know how we will get anything other than the double stroller for this baby. Oh well...
I know Amanda has one name in mind for the baby... not sure if they have decided on it or not?
