Ok there seems to be a breading ground for toys in my house they are every where I can not move for toys.
I am trying to seperate them into differnet boxes so that she can have a choice but it is so much hard work that both me and my dad are defeated. Has any one else got this problem and if so what do you do to sort it out. I am literaly banging my head against the wall right now. Does this mean that my daughter is spoilt, I hope not.
Any ways any suggestions would be good thank you. Got to go something is flying at me.

Sure she's spoiled! LOL  But mine are too!
What I find that works best is get rid of tox boxes!! I found out the hard way that all sorts of toys big and small get thrown into the box and scattered all over the house again and again... I try to keep tubs or containers of toys packed away or up high on shelves and just let them pull out a few toys at a time. Then rotate!! Rotation is the key because she won't be as bored and you won't be frustrated. HTH.

My SIL has so many toys her entire crawlspace in her basement is full of rubbermaids full of TOYS! (she has 5 kids.) She rotates the rubbermaids, there are 3 in the playroom at any given time... and every 6 months 3 new ones come out, and the old ones put away... keeps things fresh.
katherine has 2 boxes of toys in the living room. They're overflowing... We don't have a playroom. I am not afraid to throw things out. If it breaks or whatever, it's into the trash. If she chews stuff up really bad, it's into the trash. She has like fifty million stuffed animals already, so if one gets a tear, or she pukes on it, it's into the trash cuz why waste my time mending it or cleaning it. Maybe that seems wasteful, but I like not having clutter and kids don't really need that many toys anyway. She is just as happy playing with a plastic spatula and plastic mixing bowl in the kitchen with me. :-)
Anyway don't be afraid to pack up a whole bunch and give them to charity either. If katherine had way too many toys I'd just take half of them and give them to the salvation army. We can't take these things to heaven with us and neither can our children. I respect that katherine has certain attachments to certain toys, and won't throw those few out, but she does not need sentimental attachment to like 1,000 toys. It just makes more work for me, the more toys the more there are to make a bigger mess, and also I hate tripping over toys!! We live in a mobile home and just DO NOT HAVE ROOM. If you live in a small place, don't feel like you are depriving your child by setting restrictions on the amount of toys they can have.... most kids don't need half the toys that they actually have these days anyway. Clutter is frustrating to kids and adults.

I seriously need to have a re think about her toys I have chucked loads out already and still they are taking over. She has loads that she does not play with any more but the task of sorting them out is too huge.
I must make a note to make more of an effort to sort through her toys.

Just take it bit by bit. You're letting yourself get overwhelmed by the big task. Just work at it a bucket at a time.
I like, and practice, the bucket rotation idea. As well as little bins for little things. The big toy boxes just don't work well, as Becca pointed out, the little things get lost at the bottom. Those little things need a box of their own. I have used old wipe boxes for this purpose as well as cheap plastic shoe boxes. You can also, of course, get those towers of plastic drawers. But I never have the $20 to drop on one. I just use the Rubbermaid tubs for storage and rotation and the shoeboxes to better contain smaller things.
For instance, I have a brood of boys...they have lots of Hot Wheels cars. Those have their own smaller bucket. We have a bucket for Star Wars stuff. We have another large bucket for their castle and one of those shoe boxes for its figures, the small box fits inside the big box.
Just go through one bucket at a time. Weeding out things that are broken, past their prime, or simply not played with anymore. Then once you get that taken care of you can sort things as desired. Into 'themed' rotation buckets or just better organized. Picking up those little plastic shoeboxes when you can, as needed...they're only a dollar...but a huge help if you have little things, which I can imagine you do :)
You can do it :D

Thanks for the advice I am going to take that on board and sort through things. I am a horder though and I hate to chuck things out but it has to be done so be it. I have some one coming in 2moz from an organisation called sure start I am hoping that they will be able to help with getting some storage. We live in quite a big house but storage is one thing that we do not have. I did have a spare cupborad for toys but Sineads Uncle bought her a ball pool and that is in there now.
Keep the advice coming it all helps.

I find that it helps to go through Aidan's toys while she is napping or asleep for the night. That way she's not taking toys out of the trash or getting into the get rid of boxes. So much easier and I actually cut down on the amount of toys she has. I am all for avoiding a fight with her.
