View Full Version : How old was your baby when he/she got their first tooth?
Sharon 08-02-2007, 06:14 PM My baby boy who is 3.5 months old just got his first tooth!! I am sad only for the fact that with my daughter who is two, I wanted her to do everything quick, I wanted each new stage to happen. But with Victor I want time to stand still, he's so precious. But he is growing like a weed!
3.5 months old for a tooth is to young! I think Desiree was 4.5 months old and that was early.
How old was your child?
Winnie 08-02-2007, 06:21 PM I am trying to remember, let's see, he got his two bottom teeth in the front first, and I think it may have been around 7 1/2 months, but he started the whole drooling thing at 4 months. His gums would swell and then go back to normal the whole time, so I was excited to see that first tooth finally make its grand appearance, kwim.
I am amazed at how fast my little guy is growing up too.

Sharon 08-02-2007, 06:30 PM Yes, they do grow up so fast. I know with Victor he started to drool at about 2 months old and I would tell hubby, he can't be teething, can he?? lol Sure enough he was.
My ds was 6 months when he got his first and now he already has 7!!! I think that it a lot for his age!
My ds cut the corner of a tooth when he was about 4 mths...but it receded. He didn't get a tooth for real until he was 6 mths. My dd got her first at 5mths. 3.5mths sure does sound early though!
Godzgirl 08-02-2007, 10:23 PM Both of my kids became drool machines at around 3-4months  but no actually teeth appeared until 7 months for both.
Tammyn4As 08-02-2007, 11:24 PM My oldest got her 1st tooth at 1 month, I was so shocked I called the Dr. office to make sure it wasn't something else! My youngest is now cutting 6 teeth at one time! You can imange how fun things are around here right now  The Dr. felt them at his 18month well baby visit and couldn't believe he was getting so many at one time!
6 mo., all 3 of my children...
magk8ball 08-06-2007, 01:05 AM dd#1 was 8 months when she got her first teeth.. two first, and then 4 all at once.. ouch!
dd#2 was exactly 6 months when she got her first two.. she's now nine months, and we are waiting for the top two to come in.. very swollen gums, runny nose, pulling at her ears (already had the doctor check for infection - it's just her teeth).. hopefully those two top front teeth will make an appearance this week and give her some relief!
breezykc2 08-06-2007, 08:59 AM my first boy was 6 months and in three days....3 came in...ahhhhh!
my second boy is 7.5 months now and not a single sign of teeth yet...and he SOOO wants to eat! LOL, poor little guy!
Sharon 08-06-2007, 02:06 PM Well it's obvious my little one is not the norm! lol He is working on the other one next to it.
kanaclark 08-06-2007, 04:56 PM the older two were pretty young, two or three months, but Patrick, he got his bottom two at like 8 or 9 months and now, at 10 1/2 has two whole teeth, slivers of three top teeth and two more trying to break through. (Meanwhile, Mommy has a headache and is very stressed, LOL)
buttercup_97140 08-07-2007, 01:47 AM My DD didn't get teeth until she learned to crawl at 9 months old. She also got her teeth in weird patterns. She would get a front tooth and then the side one right next to it first, then the other side would come in. She is just now getting her K-9s and she is almost 2.
Now if we have teeth in Heaven, Noah got his at 2 days, LOL, but that's a whole other post!
Some babies are even born with teeth, now that would freak me out!
Blessings,
Amber
emilyrosejewel 08-08-2007, 08:43 PM Totally normal! Teething can happen really anytime after 3 mos. of age. Justice got his first at 5 1/2 mos. We will see if Titus is the same. For about a month we have been waiting for one to show since he has had the classic teething signs going on.
