My two children, 12 and 5, and I are constantly coming down with colds, sore throats, fatigue, etc. I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired!! We all take vitamins. I stay home so they've never been in daycare. My daughter misses an average of 10 days of school every, single year. We all three had the flu really bad back in january.
Do any of you have suggestions for building a stronger immune system?
Also, please pray for us to just feel better. Seems like this last dose of crud is lasting a lot longer.
Thanks!

You may do this already, but get your kids in the habit of washing thier hands!!!! After being sick, wash everything down with clorax clean up. If you don't disenfect then those germs just linger. Wipe door handles and counter tops. Wash all bed sheets and open your windows to get fresh air flowing. At night use a humidifier, unless it's humid there. Or buy an air purifier.
Hope you all get better!! It's never fun being sick.

More raw fruits and veggies. Extra vitamin C at the first sign of anything amiss. Lots of hand washing. Appropriate rest and appropriate exercise! Limit junk food...your immune system basically shuts down for 3 hours after one can of pop! Processed sugar is a biggie immune system weakener! :)

All the advice on here seems fine one thing that I have been told is a good diet and plenty of vitamin C. Do not be afraid to let them go near kids with colds and stuff as this is meant to help the immune system, do not know why though.
Thank you all for the advice. Leslie, thanks for the info about processed sugar! Had no idea. We don't eat a lot of junk food, but we do eat some and the kids drink a soft drink or two a day. I think we need to totally reinvent out diets!
All 3 of us are much better today. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

Thanks for starting this thread Tam. Didn't know about the sugar flop Leslie. Yikes. After getting sick for a week while on vacation, and being miserable, I'm looking for info. like this. I can't imagine feeling that way over and over again throughout the year. I had enough after 1 minute!
