Last night I ate a small cup of clam chowder and had meatloaf from one of my favorite restaurants. About four hours later I was puking my guts out...it was awful! I immediately felt better and went to bed and I feel fine this morning. I haven't gotten sick like that in years and it's very unusual for me to vomit. I didn't have flu symptoms, nor did I have body aches...only had to vomit... a lot!

Has anyone ever had food poisoning during pregnancy? Or do you think that the foods I ate last night just don't agree with me right now? Can baby be dangerously affected by this? I would imagine that if it is food poisoning then some of that stuff will still be fed to the baby although I vomited most of it out??

I will definitely be using the doppler every day for the next few days...this really has be concerned. :(

at 18 weeks, the baby should be ok. But if you've had pregnancy related issues all along, I would do the doppler just to comfort you.

if it were four hours later, I wouldn't look to the chowder and meatloaf. I'd look a little further back. Although, there is a possibility it could be that meal.
It typically takes 12 hours for food poisoning

Hope you feel better soon and all if well with you and baby

Take it from me, that sounds totally normal. When I was pg with Abby I never got morning sickness. However, I did get sick about 5 times in the 2nd and 3rd trimester due to things I ate. I still can't pinpoint why, I always put it down to me eating healthy and then I would eat something greasy and it would make me vomit. Even this pg, I had McD's last week and about 5hrs later it was all up. So, I've made it a point not to eat McD's anymore. I've been sick twice so far in these later stages with this pg, I just have to watch what I eat. If I cook at home, no problem I'm fine. But if I eat out, sometimes it will make me sick depending on the grease factor. I would say that it probably wasn't food poisoning, it probably was just that the food didn't agree with your body. But I'm not a doc, that's just my opinion and experience. I would say to stay away from greasy stuff cuz that could be what's setting it off. Anyway, I hope that put your mind at rest :D
