View Full Version : What's your toddler's favorite TV show/movie?
Riley enjoys cartoons, but ends up losing interest after about 2 minutes. However, she is absolutely drawn to Blue's Clues! She'll watch the entire show through without blinking!! (The thing that stinks about that is that there's no Blue stuff in the stores! There are aisles and aisles of Dora, Spongebob and Carebears, but no Blue. :()
So anyway, what do your toddlers just love to watch?

My 26 month old son absolutely adores the movie 'The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh' (Walt Disney Classics Collection). He never gets tired of it. And the good thing is that I don't get tired of it either - the songs aren't the annoying type and the characters are great. I guess that there is so much detail that he can see something new each time. We also read to him from Winnie the Pooh (the original stories) which is even better as both myself and my husband love the stories - and he enjoys this because he recognises the characters, phrases and some of the stories from the movie. Currently his favourite programmes are 'The Wiggles' and 'American Idol' (he has been absolutely obsessed with this one - as this has just finished I am glad that New Zealand Idol is due to start again here pretty soon).

Our 2 year old little boy loves Thomas the Train and any shows with music and dancing, like Barney.

My son loves Veggie Tales too.
But, his absolute favorite thing to watch, believe it or not, is Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. He'll watch the whole show without moving. [whatscratchinghead] It surprises me because it isn't a cartoon. But, oh well, he's quiet and not running me ragged for a whole 30 minutes a day!

The Backyardigans are all the rage with Matthew.
All we hear in our house is, "Pablo?" "Pablo!!" And, this has become our weapon of sorts. He is fast learning that if he does not do what he is asked or starts to throw too big of a fit, then Pable is shut off until he does it or he gets himself under control.
We finally bought another DVD as my husband and I had watched the only one we had SO many times, we were makng snide remarks about it to each other and were about to go nuts.
And, he loves BobBob...his way of saying Spongebob.

There are two new DVDs at Christian bookstores about Boz the Bear- they are fabulous! They've gotten my daughter all excited about cleaning up, being a helper, washing her hands, etc.
Ash loves Thomas and Barney. For a long time, he didn't want to watch a show unless it was stop action, but now he seems to like Kipper and Clifford too.

Alex loves Jack's Big Music Show and Ooby. He likes The Backyardigans, too. He loves anything with music, and Ooby I guess he likes just bec of the weird talking hands.
Mine were so into Blues Clues, they even to this day carry notebooks around and claim to be "looking for clues"
One day I found they had torn all the wrappers off my maternity sanitary napkins which were in the bathroom cupboard and scattered the wrapping all over the family room floor. I asked them "What are these?" and the kids told me "They are our clues!"
Probably the first movie they loved was Toy Story 2 - and the first dvd they ever actually watched was The Wiggles.
It's a shame you can't get Blue toys in the states! My DS has a blues clues quilt set and they also have a talking blue... maybe try E-Bay???
Someone mentioned Barney... you know what... I detest Barney so I won't let my kids watch it LOL LOL LOL. HEY... I need my sanity

 Same here. I also won't let her watch Dora. I don't know why, but the chick annoys the heck outta me!
Barney can be anoying. When Ash first started watching shows that is all we had was 2 Barney VHS that were my nieces from 10 years ago!
We got so sick of the two shows. Now he has a gazillion tapes and dvds and is so very particular about which one he wants to watch.

My 4 year old is hung up on Cailou right now. We have the DVR set to record him everytime he comes on. She loves him and I'm glad she does because his cartoons teach a lot of good things. Stephanie

My three-year-old boy LOVES Dora, isn't sold on Diego yet, but loves Dora (he even tries to pick out Dora stuff at stores) He also likes Wonder Pets and Sesame Street. He's always been pretty good about watching Animal Planet (Grammy's favorite) and anything musical (like the telethons on PBS) My 5 month old (even though I know it's not good for such little ones to watch TV) loves the Baby Einstein videos- I use them at shower time to give myself 30 minutes.

Dora or Muppets. That's all she can sit through. At first it was only the Muppets and there's only a few decent ones. The newer ones are trash.

My DD who is 2 loves Elmo. I noticed no one else mentioned him? Anyway, she also likes the Doodlebops and Dora, but Elmo is the fave around here. My 6 year old also likes Dora, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Disney princess movies.
