... who grunt cries... it's driving me crazy.
If I don't respond in a split second he immediately turns on this animal like-grunty-mad cry. It's everything... it's like somebody took my sweetly dispositioned little boy and started poking him.
It's been really hot here and so I don't know if it's the heat or him being obsessed with trying to pull up and cruise around or if he's getting really impatient.
He's also getting mad (grunty cry) when I leave the room- he's normally all smiley and happy to interact with other adults- won't leave my side...

so do all 9mo have change in character or is it just mine? Is it change in character or just a short term thing? Help- new mama feeling frustrated.

I think your son is about the age that they go thru a clingy stage. My dd took that stage at like 7 or 8 months, but it passed after maybe a month. Um, about the grunty cry, I think it could be a personality thing. He's probably just getting more of a personality now. My dd would get really frustrated at not being able to move so freely. I would say what your ds is going thru is just different stages and it will pass soon, and then he will be on to some new stage. Hope that helps!

Sometimes katherine would get fussy and clingy when she was teething.... other than that don't really know. I mean half the time I can't even figure out what is wrong with my own kid when she's grumpy LOL :-)

Thanks for your responses- it has cooled down a bit and that seems to have helped. He has also figured out more crawling which gives him more independent movement...
He still grunt-cries but less frequently...
Does anybody know at what age they start to differentiate themselves from mommy?

BTW: we're still breastfeeding- just about dropped that last week too! It was rough going for a few days!
