But Gavin was playing and the next thing I know he is in his bed sleeping! He just got up and laid down on his own... I know I know, I am in utter shock!

Once in a while here at home our 3 YO son does this, but almost every day he is at the sitter, he just lays down when he is tired and naps.

You mean kids actually go to sleep on their own, WITHOUT A BATTLE??!!

Sounds like a loch ness monster story. LOL, just kidding.

I hope that this unexplained occurance keeps happening for you and you can be one of the lucky ones.

:D

one time it got all quiet and I freaked out... to find ds sleeping in bed. that's like, the last place I looked. LOL.

I think it's great - maybe Gavin will be one of those people so in tune with their body they know when they are getting sick, when to rest, when to push themselves, etc.

I was one of those kids; my mom told me that I would just tell her I was tired and go lay down on my bed, half the time she just knew why I was quiet, because I was napping. :) My kids do that every so often... they get that tired, that they just lay down somewhere and go to sleep. It's weird... I know!

LOL  My 2 1/2 yo ds does this all the time. He's just one of those people who is serious about getting his sleep. If he's tired, he finds his place and goes to sleep. I know, what a blessing. Meanwhile, my nearly 4 yo dd fights me tooth and nail. :?

Yea it just happened that one time! LOL. He is such a good boy though and as far as obedience goes he rarely fights me. So I am lucky regardless!

My three year old does this too sometimes. Usually he's in an awkward position when he falls asleep though. Like on the floor with a toy still in his hand, or slumped over in a chair, or sitting up on the couch with his legs dangling over the side... hehehe
