Well, I am 3cm dialated, lost my mucus plug and having consistent daily contractions (3-4 hour span with moderate contractions 10-15 minutes apart). The contractions will then stop for several hours only to awaken me at 2am and not get any worse but just annoying! I have a perpetual backache and have been nesting like a wild woman.
So.....what can I do now to get this baby here???? I am so ready! I have looked at some of the natural inducers out there...but want to know what worked for you all.
Baby Dancing I know is a good one....if only either of us could muster up the energy these days :? Between me just being so miserably pregnant and him working 60 hours a week with construction...it's hard to do that.
I've been walking a ton and am currently sitting on an exercise ball at my desk.
Any other good ideas????
I drank red raspberry tea...not sure if it helped? I will pray for you, the end is so near but probably seems so far...

With my last baby I went into labor but the dr wasn't sure, he told us to go have lunch and walk around and come back later that day to my regular appointment. Labor stalled about the time we went to the Dr. We didn't want to go get the other 3 just to take them back in a few hours to my friend that was keeeping them. So we did what he said. So before we left the mall (where we went walking) I felt like he needed to come that day. All the way to the car (we parked kind of far out in the lot) I gently bounced up and down, sure enough by the time we were in the car labor was back on full speed ahead! A couple of hours later he was here ( just enough time to get checked in and get ready to push!) You never know what will help! I was glad he came then, he had a knot in his cord that we didn't know about!

Spicy food, brisk walk, hands & knees floor moppin'
I tried everything that was suggested by anyone and nothing worked for me. Finally we bd and 4hrs later I was in labor. Don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but it seemed to have worked.
On a side note: Tara I saw you posted in the pregnancy forum and thought, "Oh goody, #6 must be on the way" but I was wrong :( Sorry to go off topic there.
Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled program :D
Eggplant Parmigan.
I ate that and walked two miles. Boom!! Labor started in the middle of the night.

Be VERY careful of anything to "bring on" or intensify contractions...it can affect the baby's heart rate and make the contractions much stronger and in turn much harder on the baby!
having sex is what worked for us=) but, the red rasberry leaf tea is something I've heard of before as well as eggplant stuff. I would agree with breezy. . .check out with the doc anything first. I found alot of things in my natural healing book that said not to take them because they cause uterine contractions. . .and that's not all they cause. YAY! though, I can't believe you're sooooo close!!!!! -ren

Hmmm [whatthink] ... Sex helped the dialation because semen has a hormone that opens up your cervix... warning, will cause some extremely annoying contractions! Also, I did brisk walking (sometimes running) every morning when I woke up and sometimes before dinner.

Well, after talking again with my doc last night (the woman actually calls me periodically just to see how I'm doing! Wonderful woman!!!), we agreed that I should go forward with all normal activities.
She suggested the following as long as I felt up to it:
Brisk Walk - stay hydrated though!
Sex - if still physically comfortable
Sitting on exercise ball (more to help get my back/ab muscles ready for the upcoming workout than anything else)
That's pretty much what I've been doing and feel comfortable doing...so I guess it's just the wait and see game from here on out! I am getting a tad frustrated though. The contractions for hours on end with no result....ugh!!!
She still wants to watch carefully over the next couple of weeks to make sure my BP doesn't elevate again, if so then she will induce immediately. But, it looks like it could be up to 2 more weeks before he arrives. That's okay though, I just want him healthy and happy when he gets here!
