View Full Version : Weird... Weird... Weird Cycle.- Update In OP
It's CD 18 for me, and I am positive I ovulated on CD 13/14 and that's about when we were not being so "strict" in our spermicide usage. My big girls have had a stomach bug and I threw up this morning and just feel really weird... but... I'm dizzy, have that coppery taste in my mouth and can smell EVERYTHING, and I laid down for a nap this morning... those are all huge red flags.
So, I went to WM and got a pg test and it was a bfn, right away. CD 18 is still early, I know, but... if these symptoms are indeed pregnancy, not a tummy bug, wouldn't I see a bfp? ::shrugs:: This has been a weird few months for me, but this is the first month that I have these symptoms coinciding with our neglecting proper use of our birth control. Anyway... anybody have any advice here? I used the Equate (plus and minus sign) test. I was planning on testing again next week sometime.
ETA: Update... I am really cramping, which is typical of me for PMS, I get pms-y feeling a good week before I actually get AF. If I were pregnant, I would be feeling ligament pain and throwing up more... but I am only a tad nauseated but otherwise fine and feeling pre-menstrual. Oh well. Thanks ladies for letting me share my anxiety...
I mean anxiety in a hopeful way, not negative!!! :) I would have loved to get a BFP, insurance or no... but, God certainly knows best. I'm sure in another few days I'll be telling you AF is here. :( Thanks for the support gals... it means so much to me!! ::hugs::
So exciting!!! Here's to a BFP

That would make you only like 4 or 5 days pass ovulation. So it's still way too early. Also have you noticed a implantation dip in your charting? It doesn't always show. But on average implantation takes anywhere from 6-10 days pass ovulation.
Your signs are very promising. If you want an early result I'd buy a FRER (first response early results)
Best wishes to you. Even though you were trying NOT to get pregnant. It's always a blessing if you are. :D And I know you guys were trying a while back.
I wouldn't go so far as to say "NOT" trying to get pregnant... more like... trying to plan it better than right now when we DON'T have insurance... KWIM? But, it would certainly be a welcomed blessing and we would be THRILLED! insurance or NO! :) Well, here's hoping to a BFP!

I meant to post this also, sorry;
I have not been charting my temps (smacks forehead), so I have no clue there.
Also, do you think it's too early to have symptoms? I'm trying to figure out if they are indeed just this virus thing going through the family or what... If I had ovulated on day 13 and it's day 18... is that long enough for implantation to already take place and symptoms to kick in?
I remember with my other children that I always KNEW i was pregnant before I even took a test but... I can't remember how "soon" I knew. ::sigh:: Why must I wait?! Oy!

I have heard women say they had symptoms from the day of conception. I didn't so I don't know for sure, but others are certain. I will pray for a BFP!

I have heard that some have symptoms from conception, But I question that somewhat.
How long have you been feeling like this? I don't think it's too early to have symptoms, but I wouldn't depend on them either.KWIM? If you O'd on the cd14 then you are now 5dpo. You may have already had implantation, Did you spot at all? I didn't spot at all with Abby, but some women do.
I'd wait until you were at least 10dpo to test. ATLEAST. but even then you could get a false negative.
You're right, having no insurance is such a stress factor. I know you would be so excited if you did get a BFP. and I would be so excited for you. Would you guys maybe qualify for medicaid? I don't have insurance, but when I got pregnant, I went and applied for it, so that way my pregnancy was covered. I pay my taxes, so I don't feel bad for using it. And we could not afford to pay the medical bills ourselves.

Keep us posted. :D And i agree with Esther if you don't have insurance apply for medical. That's what i did when preggo with my second (due to no insurance) and i received it. Just go to your local human services office to get the application. Feel free to PM if you have any questions. :)
I looked online and we make too much, at least from what I gathered, for us to qualify for medicaid. I looked into some other forms of "maternity only" care and woo... it's expensive, and you're just about paying what you would without it. I dunno. I know if it happens, then God will provide, period. That's comforting.
My "symptoms" started day before yesterday... just feeling a little blah... then yesterday, I had the full blown puking in the morning, coppery taste in my mouth, dizzy, tired, all that stuff. Today, I am not throwing up but, still have the coppery taste, making a lot of trips to the bathroom, still dizzy and still super nauseated. Ugh.
BUT, it *could* be this virus we've got going around but, I've never had pregnancy symptoms with a virus before... hehehe. I dunno. We shall see. I'll keep ya posted on my findings. I was planning on re-testing around day 24 or so... at the earliest. I have two more tests so... stay tuned!
ETA: I never did spot with implantation... but, I always just KNEW when we conceived... so... that gives me the impression that I am, in fact, just suffering from some kind of illness... otherwise, I think I would just *know*. KWIM? I knew four times in a row... why would this be any different? I just don't have that feeling... and yet........ it's been very weird.

Hey Jen wanted to let you know about AIM (access for infants and mothers). It's medical insurance for when you are preggo and don't have insurance and can't get Medical because you make to much. Hope it helps. Here is the website.www.aim.ca.gov/english/AIMhome.asp

Looks great, but it also looks like you have to be living in California to qualify. I checked it out since I don't know what my insurance situation will be starting Aug 1.

You know you're right. I didn't even notice until you mentioned it. But i'm sure if you go to your state public heatlh website they will have a similar program or just go to a local public health office and ask what assistance you can get. I know other states have similar programs as AIM but it's just a different name. Best of luck.
[crwy] Back to ground zero! :) Thanks anyway for the help!!

typically, Jen, medicaid requirements are a little different for maternity care.
I would still fill out and application, if you need to. In Sc, the income caps posted are NOT the caps for maternity coverage.

Hhhhhmmm... Thanks, Kana!

Jen...that sounds like me a couple of months ago. I just woke up feeling 'ick' But nothing had been going around. So I didn't immediately think that kind of ick. Then I had the whole 'smell everything' thing going on and the ick was a pg kind of ick. Not that 'ugh I'm going to throw up right now' kind of ick, just a slightly off nauseated kind of ick. Weird. I even had the 'dont get anything near my neck I feel like I'm choking' thing that I get when pg.
Took a test and an immediate neg.
Weird huh?
The icky lasted all of that day and into the next, but to a lesser degree. Then that was it.
And, no, it never did turn out that I was pg.
Isn't that weird how these things happen? I just don't get it... but... oh well. I still feel really off kilter... I still don't *feel* pregnant but have all these weird things going on... ::shrugs:: Guess I'll just have to be patient and see... at least I've got you gals to help take my mind off it. Thanks! ::hugs::
