I had gestational diabetes w/ Katherine but... NOT THIS TIME! woohoooo! I am so happy I passed the tests. Also the ultrasound looked good, no problems. :-) And I am measuring right where I should be.... i've gained 20 pounds so far, do you think that is a lot?
Anyway smooth sailing.... I am so glad I do not have to worry about the diabetes thing this time around.
Great news!! I don't think 20 pounds is too much as long as you feel good:)

Praise the Lord about the GD, I had it with Noah. Are they going to test you later on in the pg? I know that GD gets worse as the placenta grows so can it show up later? I haven't read that much into what happens in the pregnancy after having GD.
I am so happy all is going well. How is breastfeeding going? Are you still able to produce? I am still nursing Emma, we made it through my pregnancy with Noah, although she was barely getting any colostrum. Now she wants to nurse ALL THE TIME since my milk came back in. Weaning her will be so hard! I recommend doing it before the next baby comes if you want to stop at a certain point, once they get that full flow of milk again, they get hooked! LOL
Keep keeping us updated!!
Blessings,
Amber

Hi Amber,
the BFing is pretty much done with - i posted about it in the babies forum. :( I might try again when the milk comes back, or just pump and give it fresh to her in a cup.
I don't know if they are going to test me for GD later. I know mine was fairly mild and katherine wasn't really big or anything (7 lbs 12 oz if i remember correctly.) the doc did tell me to eat healthy and watch my sugar + exercise. Which I am good about.... some of the time, except for like that ice cream binge i went on the other week LOL. but the baby measured great in the ultrasound so they are not worried about that, supposedly the biggest complication can be a baby that puts on too much weight from having too much sugar or a baby that has unstable blood sugar after being born... (aside from regular diabetes complications w/ the mom if it's bad). Katherine didn't have any problems with unstable blood sugar after birth though, so I am not worried about this one either because God is good and blesses us.... even if something happens I know we are in His hand :-)
I'm glad you made it through the pg nursing Emma! that is awesomeness. And hopefully when you are ready, there will not be much trouble weaning LOL, Maybe it is just the novelty of the new milk or something that is making her attached. I hope you don't have any problems TTC with the nursing though... i don't really know much about that though since I had no problems, obviously since we weren't even trying. LOL

LOL about the not trying. I say, if you are doing it, honey you are trying! :-D but I know what you mean. I don't think we will have issues TTC. My first PPAF has come and gone already. When I was nursing Emma, she pretty much would ONLY nurse for the first 9 months of her life, and that's when my first PPAF came back with her, so I figure that I am not nursing her enough to stop my Af. I actually only nurse her at night if she wakes up and won't go back to sleep. She usually sleeps through the night now, PTL, so I only nurse her during the day.
I am trying to figure out if she just likes to nurse, or if she is using nursing for something. I know it's special Mommy and me time and all that good stuff, but she wants to nurse ALL day long. I don't let her, but she would if I offered. She sometimes talks about Noah and nursing, so I wonder if she has some connection in her mind to him through nursing. Who knows, I may never, but once she is well (she has been sick with two different viruses in two week) I am going to try and wean her down to nursing only before and maybe right after sleeping. Watch, she will want to sleep all day....haahaa!
I'm sorry you are done nursing. I know how much I love nursing Emma. The only reason I kept her nursing even when I was producing pretty much nothing is because of Noah's expected outcome. If he would have been healthy, I am sure I would have tried to wean her around my 7th month being pg.
I agree, our Lord is awesome, and yes we need to be good stewards of what he gives us, but he does bless us!
