Looks like I am joining this group again.

My mom was right. I'll be due late February, early March (I figure the 19th of Feb at this point). I'll let you all know for sure.

My husband is a bit more excited than I am. I'm not looking forward to changing diapers on the daughter while having morning sickness.

I guess I just can't use first response tests. That's what I used to begin with two weeks ago when I first thought I was. I bought a pack of cheap wally world tests yesterday when I dropped Hubby off at work and went home and used one. It turned positive before I had time to put the cap back on and hit the start on the timer.

I'm just not looking forward to telling his mom. My mom did an I told you so, you wouldn't believe me. She even told me I was wrong when I called her on the 10th to tell her that all three first responses were negative. I don't know how she does it from eight hours away. So far, she's been right on with all three times I've gotten pregnant.

I don't know when I'll be able to get in for my first prenatal and all that around here (normally, you can't get an appt. until you are about 12 weeks due to shortages).

I got to get going. Busy day today between helping friends move and I'm holding a small party tonight. And Dainyah won't leave stuff alone in here.

Yea! Congrats! I know it will be hard to tell your MIL but sometimes you just have to grin and bear it no matter how hard it is.

My husband is a bit more excited than I am. I'm not looking forward to changing diapers on the daughter while having morning sickness.

I have been struggling with that too. One thing that has helped IMMENSELY is putting a fan behind me or to the side of Katherine to blow away the smell, also you can put something strong smelling like maybe vanilla or orange extract on your upper lip so you don't smell it. I also keep a plastic grocery bag to put the diaper in immediately, which helps curb the smell. I also make sure a window is open, and I take katherine out of the room and spray air freshner right after.

seriously i have tried everything b/c it is just awful for me in the mornings LOL. Sometimes I have to yell for DH so I can run to the bathroom. If it really gets to be a problem i'd suggest keeping an empty ice cream bucket beside you just in case...

but yeah, it's not pleasant. My morning sickness wouldn't even be that bad if it weren't for katherine's diapers in the morning! :P I hope it turns out to be no big deal with you and that you have an easy pregnancy. :-)

Thanks. I have to look for an OB now. I don't want the midwife I used last time. She wasn't that great for office visits but was awesome for delivery.

I figure I can just change Dainyah in the bathroom next to the toilet so I can just lean over if I have to. I have been nauseated since two days after we had to have conceived. I rarely throw up, but man, the queasies are nasty. I think I am going to buy some lemons to eat today. That helped last time.

Now, to just settle on a name if it is another girl. Hubby was thinking Sophia because it means wise, but all I can think of is Sophia in the Golden Girls. I don't know if I can get over that association or not.

Sophia on Golden Girls! Oh man... you gave me such a laugh!!! I watched that show for years!!! I think I could just about quote every episode... yes, I am embarrassed about that. :) But, it's true. :) I sure hope your nausea subsides a bit!

Congratulations! [balloons] [pregnantpatbelly] [balloons] I have heard that putting lemon juice under your nose can help ward off offending scents, too.

That's funny about your immediate name association with Sophia to the Golden Girls. I wouldn't have thought of that. The association that comes to mind for me first is Sophia Grojsman, the perfumer. :D She's super famous and has created some awesome fragrances for like, Perry Ellis, Gloria Vanderbilt, Yves Saint Laurant, Lancome... And she created Eternity for Calvin Klein, something for Elizabeth Arden [whatthink] , Diamonds and Rubies for Elizabeth Taylor...I dunno, but tons of others. I love perfume, can ya tell? I named one of my little ones, Chloe'. :P

Okay, so other than a master perfumer, the next association that comes to mind for me is Sophia Loren. [girlmimi]

If you like the name, I don't think you should rule it out too quickly. If you end up having another precious little girl, I'm sure people won't see her and find themselves thinking about an 80 year old woman.

I'm sorry about your morning/all day ickies. [whatblah]

Hey, CONGRATULATION.
Remember, children are gifts and blessing from the Lord.
It may be tough now, and the next little while, but it will get easier as time goes.

About your name idea - if you don't like Sophia - My daughters name is Sonja - which means Wisdom. (similiar meaning to wise) and you could spell it Sonia, or Sonya if you prefer...
Else, get a book on baby names, or better -a website - and do a search for other names with that meaning - if it is the meaning you like. Maybe you can find one that both you and your hubbie BOTH agree on - and can live with!

All the best on your mil.
maybe one way to prevent her "i told you so" in your face, is by coming out and telling HER that : "You know mom, you are SO wise, (through in the compliments..) I should not even bother spending money on PG test.... You seem to beat all the ones I bought. I finerly found one that can actually gave me the positive results".

Praying for you!

Eucalyptus oil under the nose with nasty dipes works pretty well, I've found. Also great for when there is an odd smell in the kitchen.

I go in on Monday for the first visit. I'm already starting to show. I hope it isn't twins.

I don't mind Sophia if it is a girl, just I am sure there is a better name out there somewhere. I love the baby name dictionaries online. That is how I found Dainyah's name. Hubby is now thinking Judea for a girl. He heard it on the radio. I kind of like it, not sure yet. I really hope it isn't twin girls as girl names are horrible for us.

Sorry I haven't been on in what feels like an eternity. I've had the all day nasties and then I sprained my ankle a week and a half ago and ended up in a boot for the next four weeks or so. Talk about fun. It is hot here and chasing around a nine month old isn't easy. And of course it had to be my right ankle, so I'm not supposed to drive either. Though, getting to use the motorized cart at Wal-Mart is fun. Except for backing up. It beeps.

Hubby is getting ready to leave soon I think so I have to get going.

Talk to you all later.
