View Full Version : Leg cramps
The last few days I have had achy calf muscles. Does anyone know if that's normal and is there anything I can do for it? Thanks :D

I had leg cramps a lot with my prgnancy. Drinking water is going to help you quite a bit. You may also want to eat a banana or increase your salt intake by a little. The potassium (sp?) in a banana will help a lot.

Between the refulx and leg cramps and peeing at night....sleep is just a memory!
Bananas seem to help some as well as stretching before I go to bed.

Stretching has seemed to ease mine. Praying for some relief for your legs ;)

Taking a little extra calcium has helped lessen my leg cramps, but they still won't go away completely.
I have read that Magnesium is helpful for that kind of thing, I always get feet cramps and such and since I have been taking the magnesium it has been wonderful, no more cramping! They gave me magnesium in the hospital when I was having preterm labor, it's supposed to help keep preterm contractions at bay. Ask your doctor to be sure but capsul Magnesium should be fine for you to take... the great thing is... you can't really overdose it.

Hmmm....banana eh? Don't know if I can do it, too many nightmares from my worm experience. But I'll try
I've got the water thing down, always been a big water drinker. Will try the stretching. Thanks ladies!

I had leg cramps a lot also during my pregnancy with my dd. I found massage helped a lot, either by a massage therapist or by your dh! :)

Eva I had such bad achy calves with Caleb (none yet this time so far). The things that worked best for me were at least one banana a day, a little extra calcium, and tons and tons of water (we're talking a GALLON a day).
Thanks ladies for posting advice- I just had leg cramps come on this week and was going to post a "help wanted" thread=) -ren
