I am loving making all of ds food but I am running into a few snags...
1. When I freeze the food, I have a very hard time getting it out of the ice cube trays. I end up making a huge mess and having things melty by the time I am finished.
2. When pureeing peas and string beans, I can't seem to get the chunks out. SHould I add more water?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I think I will post this in the homemakers section, too :)

Before putting your puree's into the cubes, lightly spray some non-stick spray onto them. Since it is for babies, what do is use Pampered Chef's spray bottle that you pump that way you can use regular olive oil instead of the "canned" spray.

I never add any water to my foods. Just keep pulsing until it gets smooth. If you leave a little of the blended food already in the blender it will blend easier with the next batch. Also be sure you have steamed the veggies long enough.. that helps in the blender. Be careful if the veggies are hot.. the lid of the blender could pop off..

I didn't do ice cube trays. I reused the glass jars. I also got some little storage containers. then I would just make sure I had at least a few in the fridge at all times.

Also. I tried to do a lot of stuff that you don't have to freeze, like smashed banana, avocado, unsweetened applesauce, cereal, little bits of whatever we were eating smashed with a fork.
When they were little, I had a mini food processor I would just throw stuff in there for lunch or dinner, make double and have the rest for the next day. When they were a little bigger, I just fork mashed it or cut into small portions.
