I just can't not tell people about this book. It has helped me to understand teenagers in a new light and realize that we should not be scared of those teenage years and there hormones that come with them but how everyday is annother opportunity to guide their hearts into becoming men and women who love God. It has actually made me excited to be a parent of teenage boys (stepmom) I know if I were actually there biological mother that would mean I was having kids at ten :shock: still I am their mother. Anyway it is definately worth looking into. The book is called Age of Opportunity written by Paul David Tripp. He is a counselor and Academic Dean at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation in Glenside, Pennsylvania. He is a lecturer in Practical Theology at Westminister Theological Seminar and popular conference speaker. I believe he is also a pastor not to mention a parent of teenagers ( at that time, they may be grown now) Anyway this book talks about changing the childs heart not just the outward actions. It has just really helped me to talk with my teenage sons. I feel that this book will deepen the relationship with my sons. It was recommended to me by a women in my church that leads child ministry with her husband. Anyway I hope it can help another mother out there who has been praying like I have for guidance and direction for those rebellious teens that have their walls built up.
