Hey guys I know that I am always moaning and whinging about something and I know that I should just get on with life but I need your help.

My DD has got a week off school next week and I do not know what to do with her. She is only 3 and it is really hard to find something that suits her, last time I took her to museems but she wasn't that impressed with that. I was thinking about taking her on a nature walk so she can find bugs and stuff, but after that I am stuck. I used to be so hands on with her I do not know where it went wrong.

I am realy dreading the next holiday after this one because it will be the big one where she has 6 weeks off school.

If any one knows of something fun that I can do then please let me know, or if you like share what you and your family do for fun. One other thing I have to think of free things to do as I am short of cash at the moment.

Abby loves to go to the park. You can hang bed sheets from the ceiling and make a little tent or hut and camp out in the living room. Girls night! get her favorite movie or tv show, pop popcorn and cuddle on the couch and watch it together. Have a formal tea party! Have her help you cook and clean, make it a game. Go outside and if there are any rain puddles, jump in everyone!

That's all for now.

That sounds fantastic I will have to try them and let you know how they go.

How about some simple crafts too? You could take a foam egg carton, cut the egg part in half and each half can be a caterpillar, then take colored pipe cleaners and cut them in half, poke them through the foam sections for legs + antenna and draw on some eyes/mouth. I did this for some very young kids 2 summers ago and they loved their caterpillars and it wasn't a very messy craft either which I really appreciated. Didn't really like dragging out glue or glitter to get all messy you know

How about playdough? My son is 2 1/2 and he loves it! (there are lots of homemade recipes online...just google "playdough recipes") Also, to add some excitement to any crafts you try, how about stickers? I recently bought a package with several sheets (100s of stickers...) at Walmart for 99cents. And if you are adventurous, let her "wash" some plastic dishes in the kitchen sink - make sure there are lots of bubbles!

Thank you guys these suggestions are cool, I am definalty going to try the catiplar thing sorry can not spell this morning kinds in a hurry busy busy busy today.

Playdough I actually bought her some for her 2nd birthday I think so it has been a while it is still soft and we can still play with it but I freak out because it get on the carpet and then it get trodden in and I hate that I always think that when people come they are looking at the stain. I also have a fantastic new toy called moon sand, again not used as often because it goes every where and I stress, any way this sand doesn't dry out and you can mould it and shape it in any way it is so cool. My dad bought her it for easter but as with all messy stuff I do not like to get them out.

Just a tip for messier stuff...I often put a cheap plastic tablecloth (about $2) on the floor under the chair/table to help with cleanup. :)

Good idea I was thinking that myself, I was thinking about buying a cheap shower curtain as it is longer.

I am not sure whether to have an out door picnic or an indoor one, it is only Sunday and already we have rain if it keeps this up then the park will be too muddy. I suppose there are always welly boots, at least there won't be that many people aroung but can you use a digital camera when it is raining. You see my plan is to take her on a nature trail in a park and then we will use the pictures to make a story book.

Any way keeps your ideas coming they are really helping me out.
