Anyone else have a toddler who fought wearing pull ups? He will be 3 on the 29th and whenever he eve nsees a pull up he freaks out. I don't know if it ijust because it is a change or if they fit a little more snug or what...although he is in the largest size diaper and they are getting awfully snug on him, too. He did wear one last night, but put up a fight...my husband even tried to make it look like a diaper by undoing the sides so it went on like one, but he wasnot fooled and my husband got one on him tonight but after a big fight. We are just really starting the trying to potty train thing, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

My son will be 3 on May 29th too! We are fighting potty training in general! Just today, I told my hubby I was in a potty training nightmare! He's been in pull ups for a month and a half and if we take him, he goes....but he refuses to tell us when he needs to go! Ergh! So, we thought maybe it was the pull ups and went to undies....he doesn't even care if he pees down his legs! I'm so frustrated! Oy! He's not unwilling to pee/poo in the potty as long as we take him every 20 minutes (which gets realllllly old)...he just doesn't care to tell us and stop playing!
Good luck! This potty training thing is awful so far! I think he's old enough to train, but I also don't want to push it....confusing!
As far as fighting the pull ups...I had a friend who's little boy didn't like them either...she used the gerber padded and plastic outerlined pants...maybe they're called AIO's?? Target has them in their underwear section....he seemed fine with those, but they still protected more like a pull up does vs. regular underwear.

I just wanted to say we are in a similar boat with a slightly different twist. My son will wear pull ups or big undies but he will not pee in them or the toliet he will just hold it until he is writhing and screaming in pain he just will not go. Then as soon as I put a diaper on he goes and then demands to be immediately changed. Seriously some days I wish I could just send him off to potty training boot camp...anyone thinking about opening one up

Isn't so interesting how each little muffin stuggles with the same problem in such interesting and individual ways.

With the whole not wanting to wear pullups maybe he could get a star on a chart or something like that for every time he puts one on with out fighting it. Or the trick for my son on anything is the whole choices game maybe you could have two different kinds like the paper kind and the kind breezy was talking about and let him "choose" between the two.

Wishing you the best of success.
