We obviously are not TTC yet, but we don't want to prevent when we are able to resume relations. But here's my question...and I don't know if anyone has been here or has any idea what the answer might be, but I was thinking of starting to temp after a short while. Because I am not exclusively nursing a newborn (I am nursing my 20 month old DD still, and more right now that usual because my milk just came in) I have no idea when my cycle will return and ovulation will begin, but I wanted to start temping to see if I start to ovulate fairly soon. Does anyone know how soon I should start to temp, or when it may be wise to start temping to watch and see when I start ovulation again. We would love to really start TTC by 4 months post-partum, and have been told by my health care provider that that is ok. We really would love to give Emma another sibling as soon as possible. She took to Noah like nothing else, and we were blessed with just a very small glimpse of what an amazing big sister she would have been and will be. We just don't want to keep that away from her for too long. We NEVER want to replace Noah, not by any means, and we know we could never do that, but we love our children so much, we are just excited to see if the Lord blesses us with more!

So, the main question, when should I start to temp again?

I have no idea, but I'm praying for you and the ttc journey! Sorry I'm not much help.

I have heard of women who have gotten pregnant within a few months after delivery. I would say you could start tepming anytime and would have those records kind of as a "baseline" to look at and compare. I have always been told that it "never hurts" to temp, it can only provide info that might be helpful. Just be sure that you check with your doc and get "cleared for take off". ;-)

Praying for you!!

I don't know either, but wanted to say that I am glad to see you on here and posting. I can only imagine how hard it is been in recent days and wanted you to know I am still praying. God is obvisouly providing for you through it all! He will help you know when it is right to try again! Praying for you and your family!

That would be me too! With both kids I started my period 6 weeks after delivery! I wasn't happy with that - I was hoping for a year break like most of me friends got!
Amber I agree... you can start temping now - it won't hurt anything and it might show you that you are ovulating earlier than you think you will! Good luck!
