My daughter came in my room one night sobbing because she was 'scared.' I had her come and cuddle with me, and we talked quietly about why she was scared and what we could do to make her not scared. I explained to her that God is always with us, and He loves her very much. I said that if she asked He would take away all her fears.
She paused. Then I heard her small voice whisper - "God, please take away all my scareds."
Another pause and then she looks at me and tells me, "Momma, I feel better."
I asked her why, knowing obviously, but not expecting this answer.
She said, "Jesus took away all my scareds and put them in a big deep hole, and locked the doors so they can't come bug me anymore."
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!
But I think of it everytime I get a little anxious - that Jesus took away all our 'scareds' and locked them in a big hole, and they can't come 'bug' us anymore, unless we let them.
The faith of a child, right? I learn more everyday from my daughter's example than she'll ever learn from me.
