I'm wanting to make my own baby wipes and I wondered if anyone in here has any recipes for disposable wipes.
Also, maybe someone could give me a "cloth wipes for dummies" crash course. I want to use cloth wipes most of the time to save on cost and make disposable ones to use away from home. Thanks in advance for your help!

Here's what I do... ((heh heh, remember the HUGE thread on this on the old forums???))
Take a roll of paper towel and cut it in half. A bread knife works good, although my hubby likes to use his big power saw to do it... whatever makes 'em happy, right?
I think I use a cup and a half of water hot from the kettle.
add 1 tablespoon of baby soap
1 tablespoon of baby oil
10-15 drops of tea tree oil
put half the mixture in the bottom of the container you're going to use
put the paper towel in the container
pour the rest of the mixture over top, wait til cool, pull from the middle and ta-da!!
These are also (in our toilet) flushable. We keep them beside the toilet now, and I use them once in a while! They work great!

Thanks, Jamie. That's a great help. Do you ever use or make cloth wipes or have you stuck to strictly paper towel ones?
I use cloth wipes, just throw em in with the diapers. I use wipe solution. I also have foamer kind *ohhhhhh it's nice!*
I use terry velour, hemp fleece, and flannel. I like different ones for different jobs. :P
I just cut fabric in squares and serge.

I haven't gone with the cloth wipes. At the moment I don't have ANY in diapers, but I will be using cloth wipes with the cloth diapers later on.
Rach, what wipes solution do you use, and what is this foamy stuff of which you speak???
It's stuff I make but I didn't want to get in trouble for advertising. LOL
PMing you the link
Oh and if you buy a wrap I'll give you some for free ;) Cause I love my c'moms!

I will def. try to recipe above too. All the recipes I have ever got out of frugal and money saving tip books...have just fell apart. They never hold up to wiping. The first batch I made was a bit dry....still crumbled....the second I think I got them too moist and they just tore apart. Hubby, refused to use them after one he used didn't work so well...we won't mention what go all over his hand  I found a great solution though for storing them. If you buy jumbo cans of formula...those work great for cut in half paper towels. The lid you can cut a easy X in. I decorated DD's with ribbon, bows, card stock, and her name. Saved on in case I would run across another good recipe.

In regards to the homemade wipes. I don't know if anyone else had this issue but I found that Bounty paper towels were the best to use. They don't seem to split and come apart as much...my sil said she had that difficulty and I never really did with the Bounty...well I ran out of Bounty and just used what I had in the cupboard and it was terrible! Just a thought for those of you who are trying the disposable homemade type.
I LOVE the old forula container idea...that would make it so much easier!
