That is the question of the month at our house.

My two year old won't eat pizza but he will gladly lick shoes.[whatheadagainstthewall] [whatheadagainstthewall] [whatheadagainstthewall] [whatheadagainstthewall]
I just had to get that off my chest because it's driving me crazy. [whatwacko] [whatwacko] [whatwacko] [whatwacko] [whatwacko]

He also will eat eat cheese and mustard sandwiches but skips out on most other yummy food.

Any body else out have kiddos with the wierdest food fetishes that just make you want throw you hands up and let them live on goldfish alone.

OH I am so with you sweetie... my DS will take a piece of bread with only mayo .. um yep that is it. It is a battle at times to get him to eat properly.

Oh yeah, I've been there! Ds-5- is just starting to get a little more adventurous with his eating. I make something new, he comes to the table and says,"That looks and smells yucky!" I give him the "mother eye" and he quckly says,"But I bet it will taste yummy!" Both of my older kiddos(5 & 3) only like lunch meat and cheese, with no bread. It will pass eventually.

As long as he is healthy, I'd let him eat what he wants (within reason) I'd take the shoe licking out, but let him eat the other stuff.

Yah, no weird fedishes here though extremely picky eater. I just make sure she gets enough and that what she gets is as healthy as it can possibly be even if we have the same ten foods in different combinations from day to day=). I don't allow her to fill up on junk and I do try new things from time to time, but yikes it's hard! I've found eating goes better when we're at the table away from the tv and toys. Also, she doesn't get anything else if she doesn't eat what she has (which I insist on sice I basically give her the foods she likes). I don't know mama- I think they out grow it- I hope  -ren

Hi,

There are good days and then the really bad days!

I found a trick that seems to work - Nathan who is almost 2 - tends to eat more when he has 'helped' prepare the meal!

Hi my 3 year old DD goes through stages where she won't eat or stages where she will do off something because she calls it dirty.

Be gratefull that yours only licks shoes, mine licks lamp posts and metal fancing outside. I have has many a comment on this and it is really embarrasing.
