View Full Version : Daughter is grieving loss of puppy
My sweet little 12 year old and I bottle fed an orphaned pup for almost 3 weeks. He was doing well until this past Saturday when he started having seizures, stopped taking his bottle and finally died last night. :( (We carried him to the vet twice, but there was just nothing to do for him. His heart wasn't beating right)
She is a hyper-sensitive little girl anyhow; she is taking this extremely hard. We all cried, but she is just devastated. She was so attatched to him having helped feed him and whatnot.
Please pray for her.
Also, are there any vets out there? I am just curious; at the very end when the pup was actually dying, one of his eyes turned grey/blue. It was so odd; we just wonder what in the world caused that? :?:

Not a vet, but had a dog go through a long dying process too....his eyes turned cloudy grey and it was a cataract film that covers the eyes when the body starts to shut down is what we were told. No vet experience here though, so only going off of what info I was given! So sorry to hear of your little girl's loss.
That is so sad! Praying for her little heart! It's hard to lose a beloved pet and friend. ::hugs::

Praying for your dd!
Well, just to update you all; each day has been better for her since the night the pup died. I think actually having to see and hear it die for what seemed like forever is what had us all so upset.
She is a dynamic Christian that finds God in everything. She teaches me. She said that she's glad God went ahead and took Skittles so she won't have to worry about him in the event of the rapture! (She's often worried about what will happen to animals)
Thanks again for your prayers.

Hi Tam. I haven't seen you around for awhile. I'm sorry about the puppy. It is so hard to lose a pet slowly. We had two dogs die when I was younger, one hit by a car, and one slowly from cancer. Slower is definately harder. Tel your sweetie that I'm praying for her and give her a big hug. Sounds like we worried about some of the same things!
