I recently went to the Dr for a check-up, and she discovered a lump in my breast. I had not noticed it before, but I am nursing and they are always changing, so I didn't even think about it. Well, she seemed concerned, and I have an ultrasound scheduled this week to check it out.

I have read on the internet that it could be a cyst on the milk duct or something totally benign like that. Has anyone else ever had a similar thing come up? Should I be really worried?

If it is nothing, the worry will have been wasted. :? If it is something then worry doesn't fix it, but only increases your stress and that makes whatever it is worse. :( Try not to worry. :) There are TONS of reasons for this, especially since yo uare nursing. Follow your docs instructions, and rest in the knowledge of Jesus loving care.

I will be praying for you. Everything about breasts can be scary. I totally understand. Had few scares myself. Tortured myself with thoughts that never came to pass! :? Such wasted time! :( Try to trust God! I know how hard it is! :)

I'm praying for you! I know how scary that can be. I found a lump when I was 18 and they removed it to test it and it was benign. They told me that I have fiber-cystic breasts. I have since had 3 more lumps but they are all the same thing. Everytime I find a new one, I know that it's the same thing, but there is always that nagging thought in the back of my mind that says it could be different this time. Try not to worry. If you need to talk feel free to pm me. [hug]

Personally, I have had seriously hard, hot lumps and some smaller more unnoticable lumps while nursing. PP are right... worry does NO good... pray and we will be praying with you! :) That is the BEST thing you can do! ::hugs:: Ma-dear!

Gee, you sound just oh so wise and and and I don't even have the words for it hehehe
All I was thinking, all I could have said was summed in in those two short lines. VERY well said Miss Leslie :)

Oh and in case you couldn't read between the lines...I completely agree. Don't worry, rest in Him...but keep an eye on things, any changes and listen to the doc (wow, did I just say that? LOL ... nevermind ;) )

I have read on the internet that it could be a cyst on the milk duct or something totally benign like that. Has anyone else ever had a similar thing come up? Should I be really worried?I had a lump after my son was born. It was a fibroadenoma (non-cancerous tumor to put it bluntly). Lumps are common when your hormones are changing and all crazy, from cycts to non-cancerous tumors, to a clogged milk duct. Most likely it is something like that. Not that I'm a doctor, but it IS common for this to happen in women. Just try not to worry, even though it is easier said than done. (((HUGS))) I had to have an ultrasound, then a needle biopsy. Yes, I was freaking out, but then was relieved to know it's a common place when your body is making so many changes. This happens to A LOT of woman, esp. within a year to 2 years after giving birth. I believe I found mine when my son was about 6-7 months old.

Thank you for your responses. I go from not at all worried to sick in the stomach, but it definately makes me feel better to hear that other women have had similar experiences and they weren't all serious.

Please keep me in your prayers.
