The other night at 1:30 in the morning, I woke up to the sound of a crinkling bag...my husband got up and went to the living room to find our almost three year old son sitting on the couch, watching TV and eating from the bag of potato chips my husband left on the couch earlier.

He of course put him back to bed. It wasn't funny then, but now I sort of chuckle when I think of it. Guess he was hungry and needed entertained.

LOL! I can totally see my DS doing that when he gets a little older.

Actually, Chelle, this made me chuckle. :D I can just see your son calmly watching tv and munching on chips while Dad and Mom saw logs.

That is too funny! I think I would have to laugh, but then again not at 1am.

That bought back memories of when one of our ds's (around 3 at the time) woke up very late and proceeded to unwrap christmas presents that had just been put in the loungeroom that day :? .
He had about half of them done before we woke and realised what was going on, including opening boxes and having a fiddle with some of the toys!
I was pregnant with our 6th at the time so was sleeping heavier than usual. We stayed up till 2am rewrapping :( .
Funny now, NOT then. xoxo
Sorry to hijack the thread

How cute! My dd is to scared of the dark to travel that far. But if I did find her doing what your ds did I would think it was pretty funny. Out of curiosity what was he watching?

I don't know what he was watching...he probably just hit the button to turn it on and it was wherever my husband left it.

A friend of mine told me that when ehr son was two, she awoke to find him in the kitchen, his pajama top that he had taken part way off was still snapped to his pants by one snap and dragging through the grape juice he'd spilled on the floor, walking thorugh the cheerioes he'd spilled on the floor, with an apple on the counter with a bite out of it and in one hand the velveeta cheese and in the other a knife  Of course it was not funny then, but she laughs now.

 that is pretty funny! You've now reached a new stage of 'babyproofing'

oh and as for your friend with the knife - i am so paranoid about knives that I keep mine on top of the fridge. I saw my friend kept them there and I totally stole her idea!

Glad everyone's okay!

Thats scary - to have your toddler wake up and help himself to food and TV at that hour.

Hope you have child lock on your TV (don't want to expose him to anything he should not be watching) Here in SA - there are 'adult' programmes on at that hour on a Friday and Saturday night on the open channels!

I know - disgusting!

Kids are amazing. Although ours would have to scale 3 gates to even GET to the TV or food, I remember our son (at 14 months) piled up his pillows and stuffed animals to climb over his room gate in the morning when I was downstairs. Good thing he had a couple more to go before I heard him. YIKES! Glad your son was okay and didn't get hurt. ~Kerri
