and it ain't Bri. (or superman or gabe for that matter)

anywho, somebody, somewhere, in our family has taught my 18 month old son to say "Andilay" or however you spell that word (any spanish-istas here that know how? I took french, can't speak it either, but that's what I took, LOL)

As most of you remember, Bri has speech problems stemming from his A.T.
which the speech is starting to get better after he had a cervical adjustment a while back. I was so not into chiropractic until she adjusted his neck, (said it was twisted causing nerve pressure and could cause speech and emotional problems and he may not be so "autistic" at all) Anyway, he's back up to about six words or so, one being the equivalent of HURRY in another language. AND HE KNOWS WHEN TO USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think it was either my dad, or my cousin. my dad's nickname is Speedy G b/c he's tiny and gets around so quick, and my cuz, well, he'd do it just to aggrevate me. (we're more like brother and sister than cousins, so I think that says enough for that one, LOL)

ok, just had to vent.

:-)

Okay...I am laughing! [rofl] Sorry, but I think it is hilarious. I can just picture the boy yelling Andilay, Andilay when he wants someone to hurry! [rotfl] Got to see the humor! [girlsmiley]

Thats great he knows another word though! It might be from Dora if he watches that. My son used to say some spanish words just because of Dora the Explorer. He said Blue in spanish before he would say it in English! I'd say what color is this and he's tell me azul. lol   :D

You know, Leslie, I knew you'd laugh, LOL. I guess it's the whole "life with boys thing" you have to expect a certain degree of "oooooooooooookay" moments with them, maybe a few more than you would with girls. Boys are just goofy.

but so am I so I fit in, LOL

My boys actually went through a phase of saying that word. :D They got it from the good old cartoons with the speedy mouse! Yes, boys will be boys! Got to go with the flow! [girlsmiley]

Ah, life with boys! We mommies of little men are truly blessed! Just wait til someone teaches him to say something more obnoxious...like fart! Oh, I really hate that word, and of course my brother in law took great pleasure in teaching my son when and how to use it to get the most laughter.
A 3 year old shouting in Walmart that he just farted is not a good thing! With everyone around you laughing, how exactly do you punish him?

Saying fart isn't nearly as awful as having them fart and then laugh about it saying, "That was a good one!" Or burping and saying, "Good out!" I have ahd to work hard! LOL!

Okay...on a really gross note here - for those squimish ladies you may want to stop reading this now.....

But - does anyone else's sons/husbands compare the smell and try to guess what they ate that caused it? That is one of the few things I dislike about my 2 oldest stepsons (age 14 & 15). They love to see who can guess correctly.

Oh My, yup. Gabe and Brian are always doing that, or seeing who can make it smell the worse. I don't get it, and sometimes,  as much as I hate to say, I've fell into the action

They even have Bri to where he'll fake a burp or fart and laugh histerically at himself. you know how 2 year olds laugh, LOL

My husband will announce to everyone whether the loud fart we just heard will smell or not. Somehow he can tell! If it is going to be unpleasant he will say, " Better go under", which means put your nose under your shirt!

He also does the "pull my finger" thing with the boys. Of course now they are too old to be fooled by it! :) Bodlily noises and functions...well...nothing is taboo in our house. combine that with my nurse tendency to talk matter of factly about almost anything...well there you have it!

I have trained them to know that certain behaviors are only acceptable, and then BARELY, here at home and not in mixed company! Though I have warned them multiple times that as at twig is bent so it will grow, and they will likely embarrass themselves once because it will be so second nature to them. They need to practice good manners ALWAYS! But daddy...well he's all about fun! Men. Gotta love em. :D I bet it was a man who taught him to say "undilay!"

So glad my men aren't the only ones that do the comparison thing...

We who are surrounded by men, yes, we are truly blessed with a sense of humor!!!
