Well ladies I went to the OBGYN yesterday and I am dilated to 3 CMs... SO things are progressing. Next week they are going to do an ultrasound to make sure he is big enough. They are not worried but they just want to double check because Sam was so small and I have only gained 5 lbs my entire pregnancy of course 20 lbs was all this past month lol. I lost a bunch of weight in the beginning of my prengnancy. The Dr said if Ben is big enough next week he will schedule an induction but again I am not really sure about that... he said I didn't have to if I dont want to its completely my decision. So I am gonna do a lot of praying about it.

No medical concern. The Dr just said second babies can be induced because they are usually ready sooner and no reason for mom to be uncomfortable longer than she has to. They like scheduling for hospital overcrowding reasons too I am sure... but they wont induce me if Ben isn't big enough which is why they are doing the ultra sound. So the induction is more for my comfort and for scheduling but i told my Dr I was more for the spontaneous and God's timing lol. He understood and said he had no qualms with that.

If Sam was a small baby then there is a good chance Ben will be too, I don't like inductions lol they make labor harder and more painful, wow 3cm it sounds like your body is doing great in getting ready I will be surprised if you make it to much longer lol hopefully till 37wks when he considered full term, but the longer they stay in the more healthier they seemed to be, their immunity system is more ready to fight and their not as sick as often :) praying for you and Ben

Honestly Krys, an ultrasound won't tell you if his lungs are ready, only an amnio can tell you that. He can be 10lbs and not have mature lungs. Because you are at 3cms already, I would really encourage you to NOT have the induction. Compared to spontaneous labor inductions hurt a lot more. I think it is totally irresponsible of your doctor to even bring that up to you. This is your baby's health and your health that he is playing with, and for his or other doctor's benefit? Obstetrics has really gotten out of control with these type of attitudes with doctors.
I had 37 weekers with the twins and they had feeding issues along with some other issues because of being early. It literally affected the rest of their feeding lives.

Of course this is your choice, and I know you DO have to pray about it a lot. I will pray for peace in the decision you make. I pray for wisdom for you in this decision and that you feel the Lord by you in whatever you decide.
Please do some research on inductions and how ultrasound can't determine lung maturity. We just love you and Ben so much that we want the best start for him possible. You are doing awesome being a single mom, and you don't need unnecessary issues on top of everything else you are dealing with. God knows this baby's birthday and that is so comforting to know, you know?

If you are not comfortable with the idea, I would trust your instincts and avoid induction, especially since your body is already prepping itself for the big day. As other moms have said, if there is no medical need, if Ben is not in any danger, then an induction could cause more problems than it solves. PTL that your doctor is ok with whatever you choose and is not being pushy.

I have had both regular and induced labor, and regular labor was much easier to manage, IMO.

both of my boys were early. one 37 weeks and the other 36 weeks..Jake was the 37 weeker and he was 8 lbs 10 oz..but needed help maintaining his oxygen levels when he was born. Big doesn't always mean ready to come out..i would wait if there are no medical concerns at this point.

So I have been having contractions this morning. They are little ones... but I know they are contractions because there was more blood when I went to the restroom. I have a feeling he is coming soon!

Your little guy is in a hurry! I will pray for mature lungs and a healthy big boy! I'm glad you are having peace about your decision and sought the Lord in this. Either way we will all be here for you!

Is there anything else you need too for Ben? Do you have any preemie clothes? If Sam was small I'm sure you do, but I want to make sure you have what you need. Is baby daddy helping with diapers and clothes? How can I pray in this and help you if I can? Let me know!

the contractions are getting stronger so i called my DR and getting ready to go in for a check up.

I don't have any clothes 3months and younger because I donated all Sam's baby clothes to my friend until I realized I was pregnant again!

David doesn't help financially but I am ok, things are tight but we are making it.

I would love for you to pray with me when I go in for delivery. I will try and update after my Drs appointment will def update my FB.

Thanks to all of you, I am still pregnant :D Doctor told me to go home and drink a bottle of water and lay on my left side and if they went away they were just braxton hicks but if they got closer then to go to the birthing center. Well, they didn't go away but def calmed down so I was able to rest. I left Sam at the sitters for a couple of hours while i napped and we went to bed early. I am feeling much much better this morning.

Again thanks for the prayers and if I do go into labor I have Amber's phone # so I will update her for you all! Plus I can update FB from my phone but I am not sure if I will even feel like doing that right away.

I am in my final home stretch :D
