At church last week, one of the board members approached me and asked if I would do "Baby Day" for the church. It's basically just a little part of the service where we honor all the babies born in the past year. I accepted, which meant that I get to be in charge of picking out a small gift for each baby. For less than $5 each.

I went all over town yesterday, looking for something that was both cheap and Christian, but something that didn't look like it only cost $5. Do you know how HARD that is? But, I prayed about it, and I got my inspiration last night.

I'm making onesies for them all. I bought some white onesies (all size 12 months, so they'll eventually fit each kid) and some iron-on paper that lets you print your own design and then iron it on to what you want it ironed to. This is what I've come up with. (We're Church of the Nazarene, btw.)

The best part is that I spent about $3 for each gift. God ROCKS, doesn't He? :D

I don't know if you've made them yet but I have found that onesies are so stretchy the iron ons stretch out and get all crackled very quickly.

What I do now is iron it on some broadcloth, then cut that out and applique it on. I just use a wide zigzag and a very short stitch length - almost to 0. It also helps to just stitch it on the onesie using a regular stitch/basting stitch. Otherwise, it doesn't always line up at the end due to the stretch of the onesie.
There are things you could use which don't require sewing, too. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Good luck!

I love the layout, font, color, it's very springy and says to me "new life". Great job!
