Does anyone know what causes pregnancy brain or mum brain?
Is it hormones or just the brain being occupied with making a baby?

I don't know what causes it but it has been almost 5 years since I had dd and I'm still loopy! [whatcrazy] . I used to be "on the top of my game" before kids and now I can't remember anything and loose focus really easily. If you find out the cause and solution please let me know. My family will thank-you! Stephanie :D

I've heard it said that you lose 1/3 of your brain power with every child! Man, I'm going to have nothing left!

Yeah, I'm not as sharp as I used to be, either. My "blond" moments seem to be more and more frequent!! What's up with that?? Isn't it bad enough that we have to go through nine months of mood swings, crazy cravings, sleepless nights and then labor?

I guess it could be worse. We could be men.

I don't know what causes it but I truly believe it exists. Paired up with pregnancy clumsiness, somedays I just need to stay home so I don't get lost or hurt myself.

Hey Beck I'm a blonde too and that doesn't help matters either--I mean I need all of the help I can get. Maybe I should color my hair brown or something. I wonder if that would help me?????? Stephanie

Glad to know I'm not the only who has lost her mind!!!!! You have no idea how many times I have run to wal-mart and then couldn't find my car when I get ready to leave. The last time I lost it, I thought someone had stolen it. I nearly went back into the store to find my Hubby (he works there) and see if I should call the police and report my car as missing. Turns out, I was over looking for it three aisles from where I parked it. After that, I will only park in row 17! Even if it is raining and the only spot open is at the end of the row. I have also left the lid to the washing machine up after loading it and starting it, so it didn't go through the cycles. Took me two hours to realize I didn't hear the washer going.....

A friend of mine has called this pregnancy ADD. I think I like that term. It describes this odd condition pretty well.

 I did the same thing last time I did laundry.

I also went to Target to get some diapers and groceries. I go to check out, get everything on the conveyor belt thing and realize I don't have diapers. So as the guy's ringing me up, I'm frantically racing through the store to get diapers before he gets done scanning my groceries!

Oh, and I also didn't catch a connection on Baby Einstein until my husband pointed it out to Riley. I think that might take the cake for me!

Here are my pregnancy brain escapades:

1) Can't find my keys half the time. One time when I lost them, I lost them for literally hours. My brother-in-law had to drive my husband home from work. Then I later found my keys sitting in plain view. I practically thought that the Devil had moved then on me, so I rebuked him out of my house!

2) Put leftover spaghetti sauce in a container and went to get plastic wrap to cover it. Left the spaghetti sauce in the cupboard when I got sidetracked. Hubby found it the next day. Good thing that we didn't get food poisoning.

3) Made rice pilaf for hubby. Wondered, "why does this taste so bland?" Realized that I forget to put in the seasoning packet.

4) And the ultimate in preggo brain.....
I mailed the electric bill and then realized with horror that I forget to enclose the check. Had to mail the check in a separate envelope.

My midwife likes to hear about my preggo brain episodes. She says that I'm getting more primal..... :) LOL
