My son Gabriel isn't eating enough. He may only take about 6-12 oz. of formula a day and a couple #2 foods. I think at his age
( 9 mths ) he should be eating 24+ oz. of formula a day. I was nursing him but when I found out I was pregnant I tried weening him. my milk supply has almost gone dry, I can only nurse at night. I need some advice and some prayere please! My sons name is Gabriel..... Thank you. I'm so worried for him, my husband and the rest of my family isn't that concerned.... I guess afterall he is still very healthy and this has only been going on for a few days now. I just don't want for it to turn into a long term thing. Mothers nerves I suppose.

Has he seen a doctor? Has he been weighed? A baby should gain so much weight in a year's time. A simple check by the doc and a weigh in might set your mind at ease. :)

They do back off sometimes on formula and nursing if they are eating people food. And toddlers do notariously cut WAY back on their food. 9 months seems a might young though. :?

I would tend to want to run it by the doc. That is what they get paid for. That is if you have a good doc that you trust. Another thought is has he been sick or is he teething? Sometimes they go through phases that last a week or so. How long has it been going on? If it has been less than 2 weeks it might just be something that is going on with teeth or a bug of some kind.

Anyway those are some thoughts that first come to mind for me! :)

Thanks. No it hasn't been going on that long. I have his 9 month check up on April 2nd. So I'll wait for that I think unless he really won't eat. He isn't sick that I can tell, he is teething though. I def. trust my pedi. he actually was my pedi when I was young. Thanks for the advice. I'll update on how things go.

My daughter also has her 9 month checkup on April 2nd. Since Maddy's been eating "solid" food, she's been nursing less...she doesn't need as much, I think it's more of a comfort thing right now than anything. I wouldn't worry too much about it...but like Leslie said, talk to the doctor about it...just try not to worry too much between now and then...seems like your baby's getting enough on solid food to me.

Some new news. I don't know where it came from, but I have enough milk to nurse my son, and he is nursing like a pro again. Hope thats not TMI. He has a small head cold, I think that brought his appetite down. He has plenty of wet and soiled diapers though so thats a good sign right? Thanks for any prayers out there I really appreciate it. It's pretty stressful when your baby won't eat, and your going through those emotional roller coasters from your first trimester.

Glad to hear things have leveled out.
Yeah, adding solids will often make for a change in nursing habits. And with the switch to formula too...and a cold...geesh, yeah, that stuff happens.
Glad tohear you are able to nurse him again :D
