has been initially diagnosed 2 days ago with global developmental delay (and a possible mild form of autism) ...he's currently delayed on speech. the pedia assessed him yesterday and asked us questions and she came up with this. I was really quiet inside the clinic and just opens my mouth whenever the pedia ask something, sometimes it's DH who answers. He will be having some tests in the future and we're praying for normal results. The Pedia said we are qualified for the Carer's Allowance. I don't really care if I'll be eligible for that or not, as long as my DS is fine that's all that matters to me. I kept silent on our way home but when we got to our parking lot, I wasn't able to contain my emotions. I cried hard and DH told me that he knew exactly how I feel. I see my son as a normal boy only with a bit of delay and apart from that he's just smart and gorgeous. I'm feeling kind of low atm but our family believes that God is in control of these things and my son is as precious to Him as any other children. We'll get through with this with His help.

hope you guys understand, I just want to let go off what I'm feeling atm Please include us in your prayers (as I'm also having an abdomen U/S this Monday) Thanks and God bless us.

Oh how hard it must have been to hear those things. :? Your son is precious and fearfully and wondefully made. But any parent doesn't like to hear that something may be wrong. Remember that God is the God of all flesh and nothing is too difficult for Him. Also remember that doctors are often wrong. Each kid develops according to God's plan and it doesn't always fit in with their book directed pattern. :) But it is good you are getting intervention. It is so hard, but rest in God's provision. Expect big things. Love on that little one. God is with you guys! I have your little one on the prayer list! :D

I would just want to say "thank you" for your replies and words of encouragements and most of all for your prayers. The Speech Therapist along with a representative from our Community Health Center will be visiting us tom to discuss about the Child Care and Playgroup that my son will be joining. :) Will keep you posted about it.

God bless!

(((hugs))) Many prayers are going up for you!

My son has been in speech services since he was 2 years old. He had developmental delays as well. Thankfully, he will be "graduating" out of speech this year. Ian was also diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy over the summer and I totally understand your fears and worries. Hearing my son had CP was hard, even though I knew he would be fine and be able to carry on a normal life. Just some stuff is going to be a bit of a struggle for him.

hi everyone,

Thanks for all your prayers. DS2 is somehow starting to talk (without prompting). I've been trying to teach him to say words (although he still can't pronounce it clearly, but we'll get to it) that's why when the speech therapist visited him last Wed, she was amazed on how he progressed. Hes' being seen every 2 weeks so the "work" is really on my part actually  but it's ok, he's my son and I love him and I'll do anything that I can to help him with this. Praise God!

Another thing, my ultrasound went well. The Sonographer told me that he couldn't see anything wrong, though I haven't seen the written report yet, I've already claimed that everything is FINE in JESUS' name. God is really bigger than any "speech delay" or sickness or anything.....He's really awesome. All glory and praise to Him! [amen]

hello everyone,

how are you? hope you're all doing well by the grace of our God. sorry I haven't been on for sometime 'coz I'm quite busy with the kids and all. both of my sons are doing OK and so is my darling husband.

DS2 has been improving a lot (though still with limited words) but little by little there are words being added and I Praise and thank God for that. I know in my heart that God knows what's best for Jhetro (my son) and in His time, my son will be able to talk clearly and continously.

BTW, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL MUMS OUT THERE and I just pray that God will continue to shower us with His blessings and His mighty hands of protection will always be with us.

your sister in Christ,
jhet
