So my kiddos had to go on some pretty heavy duty antibiotics for respritory and double ear infections. My doc is NOT one to hand 'em out regularly, even for EIs. It was the respiratory part that determined the need. Anyway, we're off of those now and both kids are better. Except, well, yeast rashes on both of them.

I'm trying to limit using OTC creams. I have been putting garlic on them but I'm not totally sure the best way to do that. Any tips? I've just been slicing them in thin-ish slices and rubbing it directly on them until all the oil I can feel/see is gone. But I know there is more IN the slice.

Also, we use cloth. Garlic oil won't cause any issues right? I can't imagine it would since it soaks into their skin so quickly, but thought I'd ask.

I've also put plain, nonfat real yogurt on Charlie. I saw a little improvement with that but not much. Between the yogurt, garlic, and topical cream I feel like we are just going in circles. Maybe I'm not doing it enough??

Night time is the worst - especially for Grace. Poor baby girl!

Any ideas? Any tips on applying the garlic? ??

Thanks ladies!

Diluted tea tree oil, but Im not sure about using it on kids so I would research it first. :)

ETA: I also found this:http://yeastinfectionhubs.com/yeast-infection-home-remedy/tea-tree-oil-for-yeast-infection/

Oh that's good to know! I have some so maybe I will try that next. Both of them are looking A LOT better but I since some of it still bright red, I know they are still feeling it. I thought we were able to get by without the yeast issues this time since I was giving them both LOTS of yogurt and probiotics. I think my DD is just very sensitive to the antibiotics. This is not her first battle with yeast. :(

That website is wonderful though! So helpful! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks ladies! :) It is looking A LOT better on both of them. Thank goodness!!!

Thanks for the link Ruth! I thought we had a thread on it before (if not more than one!). I just didn't have time to search before. I will read through it later. :)

So, on our way to pick up my little sibs from school Charlie started SCREAMING and crying. I could tell he was in pain but I couldn't figure out why. As soon as I got home, I changed his diaper to find he had pooped. It must have been stinging and burning because he was bright red down there again. And his little hands kept going straight down there. Oh, I hate hearing him in pain!
I saw that in one spot it seemed to have opened up - like an open wound. :( I was going to treat his whole area with the TTO dilution. But I didn't want to put it on the wound part. I did put it on part of it, so we'll see how that does. Even as he nodded off to sleep he was twitching from pain. Aw! My poor little man! This is horrible!

I haven't yet Ruth. Mostly because I haven't had a chance to get to the store. He woke up from his quick nap happy and feeling better. The rash also looks the best it has in a long time. I put a little bit more of the solution on and he didn't cry. So that's good. :) I also called the doc. When Grace had a bad rash like this (opened up etc) it ended up being bacterial and not yeast. I know the TTO can help with that. We'll see if she wants to see them tomorrow.

Ruth, where did you find Grapefruit Seed Extract?

We've had success with the hydrogen peroxide in the past. But I'm willing to use the GSE too. I'll have to check our Target and WalMart. Both of ours have the TTO regularly.

Thanks for the tips. :)
