good morning ladies!
I need advice ..my daughter Chloe is in kindergarten and is turning 6 years old next month..she has been invited to 2 boys parties, and we have gone..now she explains to me she doesnt want any boys at hers?
should I try and persuade her (saving feelings) I am afraid the two children or whom ever isnt invited will feel badly? I am not exactly sure of the right thing here? any thoughts from veteran mom's would be greatly appreciated! she is definately a very pleasant child not to make her seem snotty..she is just in that stage of wanting only a few friends I guess? I am at a loss??? please tell me what you all think?
thank you sooo much!

Just a thought, but your daughter could have a slumber party (of course, the boys wouldn't be included, but may feel less "left out"). I know you want to avoid someone feeling excluded, but I don't think this can be avoided altogether. :? Someone is bound to feel left out, but that's not your fault. One of these days, your daughter may be the one feeling left out and it will be a good opportunity to teach her that we will not always be included and that's ok. It's a difficult, but necessary life lesson, isn't it?

thats is a really good idea..however being 31 weeks pregnant and having my hubby away on buisness I probably wouldnt want to take on a slumber party this time! lol! she actually asked for a tea party..and she says as of now she would like 5 friend's to come over..and that would be do~able for me anyways..we usually have home parties any how ..I just feel funny that she went t othe two lil boys birthdays and seems to like them fine but she doesnt want them at her party? it's just funny I guess?
I know alot of the parents in her class opt to still have small family birthdays at that age so many dont have kid/parties there have been like 4 birthday invites 2 boys and 2 girls the one girl is my daughters really good friend..and at her party there was one boy attending from thier class
but she had invited the whole class..and the two boys also invited the whole class.and several came to both the boys? so now that we are having our first son in a few years I will be on the boys end too! lol!
my thing has always been trying to keep everyone happy but you are definately right some times you just cant save everyones feelings..my other friend just emailed me with another idea..she said why dont I have it at our local park (we live in florida) so I could invite the whole class and
do some lil crafts and then everyone would be happy..and lil miss could just have a tea party on some weekend with a few of her pals? I'll have to think about it..what do you guys think of the later plan??
thanks alot for your thoughts..sometimes you all think of things I wouldnt

My son is turning 7 next month. I was having a close dilema about inviting the whole class. Not that I didn't want to, but he has 16 kids in his class and we are doing the party at home this year. There is just no way we could all fit in here. So we told him he could invite 7 friends since that is how old he is going to be. I am going to try to give the invites to the parents, instead of the kids, and explain that the whole class is not invited so to please explain to their child about this. Hopefully it won't be that big of a deal.

Inviting the whole class sounds like a big deal to me. You would definitely need help to organize crafts and corral kids. I like the idea of a very civilized tea party (especially for a pg mom to host. :D )

that is exactly what my hubby thought when I phoned him lol!
and we can get away with doing that tea party cute but small scale..lol!

I think just girls is fine! Besides how many 7 year old boys would want to go to a tea party. It isn't like they invited your daughter specially if they had the whole class. Just do a "girly party" and have fun! :D

Hi! My daughter is turning 6 next weekend, and I am with you, no more than 7 other kids. I can't do the whole class! I asked her what kind of party she wanted, Princess, butterfly or fairy. She said Princess! Like the tea party, how many boys want to go to a princess party?!!!
I will have each girl dress in a BEAUTIFUL princess dress as they walk in the door and I don't think most little boys want to do that. If you make the party really girly, it will be pretty obvious why the boys aren't invited, kwim?
My other thought is not to worry about what all the parents think. I know you don't want to hurt any feelings, but I think that just like you many parents don't want to have a crazy big party and won't get offended.
Good luck I was big and pregnant for the last birthday, and it can definately take it out of you. Try to enlist some help if you can!

thanks lol!
I am starting to relax about certain things..I have this thing that I have to please everyone..but right now I am at peace with a small lil tea party..
my lil girl is so funny she claims she wants a miss spider tea party..then a monkey one (her nickname) now ?? she loved that a few weekends ago we went to the home depot kids workshop and they made butterfly houses..they were so cute and not too many peices as a matter of fact I think they sell them pre-packaged then you can buy at walmarts those small acrylic paints grab some of thos mini plastic cups like the ketchup ones at macdonald's lol! and fill them with various colors..they have pretty good paint brushes ..for like 3.00 a pack there also and buy a can of sealer and while the kids eat their cake spray them and let them dry..
the lady at home depot told us to put banana skins in them it attracts the butterflies.. I live in florida so I dont know if all targets carry about the same but the one near us has lil easter gloves you could buy them ahead now..and they have lil white purses you could hot glue a gerber daisy to it
or some kind of flower. and at walmart in the hair isle they have mini tiaras with rhinestones on them they are really steardy! they are like 3.99
I have also seen them in target same place hair isle..sorry to get carried away! having two girls I got to know exactly where the sparkly things were..lol! my cousin had this lady come and "do" a dress up tea party for her daughter when she was 6 years old..but really it was all things you could do yourself easily with maybe the enlisted help of a teen neice or relative...I hope your party is lots of fun!
I don't know how the kindergarten is there... but how about sending a cake and a sweety or 2 to school for the whole class (so they all get a little "bite" and have a miniture party there,
then invite the few girls for a princess tea party at the home.
I am sure the boy's won't want to go to a PRINCESS party.
(esp if you ask the girls to dress up as a princess :) )
One can make it really special with flowers, butterfly, soft table cloth, pretty cookies, and pretty tea cups.
oh... i can already picture it.
have you gone to http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/ yet? I get most of my birthday party ideas from there. excellent course of help. :)
All the best with the party!

we can bring something to school for the kiddos but it has to be sorta healthy like no ice cream or cupcakes, cookies etc..I was gonna bring in animal crackers and juice boxes and monkey stickers she loves monkey's
and it's her nickname..I will maybe ask her teacher if I could do that thursday or friday..because they have intersessionand easter/spring break at once so they have just under three weeks off..after this friday and her birthday falls on their off time in the first week of april..thankfully my baby girl is so easy to please..just givethat kiddo some cake&ice cream and a piniata..lol! I love that birthday ideas site! also I find a ton if I just google a specific subject or theme..there's an amazing moms site wich is cool too.. thanks for all of the suggestions! have a great day!!!
