Do you have a dishwasher? I boiled the nipples when I first bought the bottles but from then on I ran everything through a dishwasher. It heats the water to the point that everything gross dies anyway.

Then I would say boil bottles until the child has had their first two sets of immunizations. If necessary you can dunk the bottles in a bleach solution. I am not sure of the correct amount of bleach to water but you can check that on the Internet so that it is safe for children...and kills all the gross stuff!

We also boiled the nipples at first, and then after that washed them up when we did the regular dishes.

I boiled the nipples when they were new and then just put them in the dishwasher or washed by hand in hot soapy water. If ds was sick then I would boil the nipples again to better kill any germs on them.
