View Full Version : So So Check-up
ChelleFish 03-13-2007, 08:14 PM Had a check up today and even though I am at 33 weeks and still at every two weeks for visits, I have to go back next week.
My blood pressure was up just slightly and I also had the start of a UTI or bladder infection, so am on antibiotics.
I am a little bummed as things have really gone well up to this point and I am sure it is nothing and things will calm down over the next week.
ChamomileFriend 03-13-2007, 08:41 PM :( I'm sorry this visit was not what you'd hoped. I hope everything with your health is ok by your next visit.
love2bmom 03-13-2007, 08:52 PM Keep us posted.. I had pre-eclampsia with both pregs. Hope the next ones calm down!
Praying!

4HisGlory 03-13-2007, 09:20 PM Sorry to hear your apt wasn't what you wanted. Have you taken your BP outside of the office? I have had high bp at both of my visits but I know I was stressed out...needless to say the docs have already talked to me about it, however I take it fairly regularly outside of the office and it is ALWAYS normal. Maybe that was the issue? Anyways, I will be praying for you
ChelleFish 03-13-2007, 10:13 PM I am going to have the school nurse check it at school each day now. I think I was a little hot and winded from the walk from the area where we weigh in and the actual exam room. I asked him if he wanted to check it again once I was settled in and he said even if it were back to my normal, he still watnedto see me next week.
With my first, my blood pressure shot up, but not until the week to week and a half before I delivered. Probably just being cautionary--which I do appreciate.
I will keep everyone posted.

Aalena 03-14-2007, 07:59 AM I feel for you. I'm right there with you. Doing so well up until last week. On Wednesday at my appt, bp was up. They had me rest some and then took it again, it was normal. The had me come back on Friday. Same thing again. So, now I've gone to weekly appointments just a little earlier than normal just to watch it. But I check mine at home regularly and it's always fine. I'm not to worried about it. I think it's because it's uncomfortable to walk and they take it as soon as you get back to the room, and you don't have time to rest. They told me to make sure I take it once a day and if it reaches 150/100 then to call them. But it's been normal.
It is frustrating though when everything's been going so well. I will be praying for you. Try not to let it stress you the next time you go in so it won't be up from worrying about it being up. Try and rest, too. Take care of yourself.
GabrielsMommy 03-20-2007, 10:53 AM I'm sorry to hear that. I will pray that your next visit is more normal. Just remember that God is in control of all things. Nothing can be brought into your life that He hasn't allowed. I remember one ultrasound I had with my son, they thought that there might be something wrong with his heart. They weren't sure, but had to tell me anyway. I was so upset, but I went to church and had the pastor pray and asked the women at study to pray. And here I am today with a healthy 9 month old who is constantly trying to get into everything... it's actually pretty amusing.
ChelleFish 03-20-2007, 01:12 PM I actually have my appointment today in a bout 4 hours. WIll update after we get home.
I have had the school nurse check my BP everyday and it has been fine. I have wirtten it down to take with me and show them.
I am also going to ask that they do the fetal heartbeat first and let me relax a little before they take mine. Maybe that will help.
Now, though, I have developed a yeast infection under my breasts...I am very top heavy to start with and being hot from hormones and sweating does not help that even though I shower and change bras every day. But the cream is helping things.
And...I have a cold coming on that is just horrible. Snotty and coughing and aching...hopefully just from coughing and nothing else. Mild fever.
On the upside, only two and a half more weeks left before I start my maternity leave from school :P I am ready for that to just relax a little before the surgery. I know I am lucky to have the option for leaving early and I am thankful.
4HisGlory 03-20-2007, 01:23 PM Praying for you and your apt to go well, and your bp to stay low.
I just saw this thread, but I am praying for you and your BP!
ChelleFish 03-21-2007, 12:11 AM BP was perfect  so I don't have to go back for 2 weeks, then I start my every week visists. I did have a little bit of swelling in my ankles and just a touch of protien left in my urine, but not enough to worry about.
This cold has really got me, though. I am sure at this point I will not be going to school tomorrow, but maybe a good night sleep will help. I already slept for almost 2 hours this afternoon before my appointment and my husband made me lie down afte supper and I slept for almost 3. Lots of respritory crap going around here, so I hope I can get this nipped in the bud before it turns worse.
4HisGlory 03-21-2007, 12:18 AM So glad to hear everything went well!
Aalena 03-21-2007, 08:20 AM I'm so thrilled that your appt went well. Answered prayers! Take care of yourself and rest.
RhysMom 03-21-2007, 09:00 AM I just read your avitar and I absolutely love it...maybe if I poke you the baby will come out???
weedlewub 03-21-2007, 09:06 AM I'm glad to hear that things are going better for you. It sounds like you have had a pretty miserable time lately. I'm praying for you.
