View Full Version : PG Checkins for this week!
Margi 11-06-2011, 11:39 PM How are we all doing? How many weeks? Any major positives to give praise for or tough stuff to pray for?
I'm 8.5 weeks now and I'm still really sick, but *trying* to be positive... I've got allergies attacking me now (every year in November it hits for about 6 weeks, what's up with that???) so I have a hard time not feeling overwhelmed. Sigh.
But, I have found a great Dr and I have my first dating u/s booked for November 30th so I'm really looking forward to that!
Also, I got to thinking that percentage-wise, 8 weeks is actually quite a ways into the pregnancy and that helps make it not feel so long. I'm very done after this one though. Very very settled in both my mind and hubs!!
ChristianChick 11-07-2011, 09:22 AM well, Lord willing, this will be my last "update post"! I am scheduled to have Matthew on Friday! I have to be at the hosp at 1:00 so not really sure what time he will be here, but hopefully shortly thereafter! I do have a praise, kind of a weird one probably but it made me very happy, I realized this morning that my breasts were leaking!! Yay! I had SO many problems being able to bf Jacob that I have been praying almost from day 1 of finding out this time that I will have a good supply and be able to exclusively bf, so this is an encouraging sign to me. The only other update is that I had some really severe contrax yesterday 15 min. apart, but (sigh) they stopped when I went laid across the bed for a while. It was kind of exciting for me since I have never exp. labor to think that just maybe I might go into labor before my sced. c-section. Oh well, it was interesting anyway. Looking forward to hearing all of your updates!
Allergies on top of m/s??? You poor mama, Margi!!
Glad to hear you are doing well so close to your due date, Hope! Can't wait to hear your baby news!
I'm doing well. I'm just about weaned off the diclectin. PTL! While I am grateful for the way it helps, I really don't like being on it. So the faster I can rid myself of it, the better!! :) I think my body is officially transitioning into 2nd trimester because in addition to being able to ditch the meds, I'm not feeling *as* exhausted. I sat down to make just one Christmas card last night and got my creative juices going. Next thing I knew, I looked up and it was midnight!! lol I was tired this morning, but not wasted (which I would have been had I done that a few weeks ago!) so hooray for that!! I love second trimester! :D Not much else new to share, just counting down the days until our ultrasound on the 28th!
I take it back. About 20 minutes after I posted things took a u turn and I've been feeling hideous and getting sick every since. sigh. I should know better than to get my hopes up based on just a few hours in the morning.... oh well.
Mommabones 11-09-2011, 12:24 AM Allergies and morning sickness?? I am so sorry! I hope you get relief from one or both of those soon. Do you usually see the m/s fade after the 2nd trimester comes or are you one of those mommas who stays sick longer than that?
I'm in a really "boring" spot in the pregnancy for the moment. Our anatomy scan is on the 30th, which isn't exactly too far away, but I feel antsy. I'm measuring so big already though. I'm guessing it's just lots of swimming room :p
LAlvis 11-09-2011, 08:23 AM It's fun to hear how everyone else is doing...it doesn't seem like that long since I was the one mid-way through and enviously reading about the ladies who were almost done!
Kim, I hope you're feeling better again now. I always get so much sicker when I get too worn out--hope it was just a bad day for you!
Margi, you have my sincere empathy on the allergies. My allergies have been so bad this pregnancy! It's no fun. I hope you're able to find something to control them.
Ruth, I'm sorry you've had so much stress. Keep trying to take it easy and get some weight on! (I've never had to work at that...lol!)
Hope, YAY for your last check-in! I keep saying it--but I just can't wait for Matthew to arrive! And I'm a wee bit jealous, too....
Jen, I thought your husband was home now and leaving at the end of the month? Did I have it wrong or did things change? At least that takes off the pressure of trying to convince Jane to come early. :-) I can so sympathize with just being "done..." Sorry your sciatica is so awful! I'm exactly the opposite--pretty good when I'm moving around, miserable when trying to get comfy sitting or lying down.
Emily, welcome to the forum! I love this pregnancy board. It's such an encouragement and so much fun. We'll look forward to getting to know you more...
Well, I'm nearly 38 weeks now. (Actually, 37 and four days, but who's counting? ;P I keep trying to come up with the most optimistic way to look at my dates....) Not sleeping very much or very well, although I did get one good night's sleep the other night, which helped my outlook considerably. I'm dealing with a lot of pelvic pain and hip discomfort, which I keep hoping is just my body getting ready for labor. I'm still not having a ton of contractions, though. The baby has been a lot quieter lately, although she still takes occasional kicking fits. I love feeling her little feet rubbing against my side...but when she slams a fist into my pelvis, it's getting really ouchy! Still fun. :-) I have a doctor's appointment later this morning, so we'll see if my husband's right in thinking that she's dropped already. I'm afraid to hope...
We've got the crib in the nursery all ready to go, although she'll be in a bassinet in our room for a while. I've started to get together my stuff for the hospital stay (I was in the hospital for a full 48 hours after delivering Noah--suddenly that seems like a really long time! I just want to have this baby and come home this time!) and I finally got a diaper bag (and diapers) for the baby. Things are starting to come together, except for the uncertainty of when she'll actually make her arrival. I have to keep reminding myself that even though this seems awfully open-ended to me, God already has an exact plan for her life written in His book (Ps 139) and nothing is uncertain to Him. I just have to trust that He knows what is best for our family!
ChristianChick 11-09-2011, 02:01 PM Its so great to hear from everyone! I am glad that some of ya'll's m/s is gradually going away and I pray that each day finds you feeling better and more energized. We have quite a few deliveries coming up this month, I can't wait to post my own pics and see everyone else's!!! Jen and Lynn I agree that it would be *great* if we could get in at least 1 good night's sleep before our little alarm clocks arrive, but for some reason I don't think its gonna happen LOL!
Margi 11-09-2011, 02:04 PM Allergies and morning sickness?? I am so sorry! I hope you get relief from one or both of those soon. Do you usually see the m/s fade after the 2nd trimester comes or are you one of those mommas who stays sick longer than that?
I usually get a small break from m/s in the 2nd tri, then it comes back to bite me in the 3rd! At least I have no illusions that it'll be a walk in the park! lol
