OK, so I had the pg test done at the clinic and they said it was negative! I don't get it. I have taken 3 home tests and ALL turned out positive. I asked her about that and she couldn't give me an answer that made sense. So she took my blood and I'll get the results back tomorrow. Has this ever happened to anyone? I am so frustrated [whatheadagainstthewall] I don't think they are very competent. They probably mixed my urine up with someone elses.

I have never heard of this!!! They test for a chemical that your body ONLY makes when you are pg, so it should show up at home and at the clinic. I agree, it must be a mistake! I bet you are frusterated, it should be so simple, positive is positive, right?

I have heard of this. They say that you can get a false negative, but never a false positive because the tests measure the HCG (the hormone that is present in a pregnancy) levels. Some tests are not equiped to measure under a certain amount while others are. If HCG is not there... the test can't measure it... thus never getting a false positive. :? Blood tests will show every little drop of HCG which is why they're better than the urine ones.
Hope I helped! :)

I've had a false postive on a home pregnancy test..they did both urine and blood work to conclude that it was indeed a false alarm..i did get pregnant a few mths after but didnt actually believe it till i got back my blood work which i've found to be the most reliable..
hope everything works out for you though..

You can get a false positive if you are taking certain fertility meds, but if you are not on any maybe the office test isn't as sensitive? I would wait to get too upset until you get the blood test. Also just another thought, don't preg tests have an expiration date? Maybe expired...were they all the same brand in the same box? maybe a bad batch....I don't know I have heard of false positve but I understand they are very uncommon. Good luck with the blood.

2 tests from the store were from the same box and then I bought another one from a different brand and they are all not expired and all had positives. I wonder if there is something wrong with the one from the doctors. We'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully I don't have to wait too long tomorrow for the result.
