Does anyone suffer from a problem with their Thyroid and if so what are the symptoms? I have been having wierd heart flutters and other things, and I wore a heart monitor and everything was fine with my heart. So I am praying and trying to explore other options. I keep coming across this issue and wandered about it.

Any help is good....
Thanks
Kelly

I had my thyroid tested a while ago because I was experiencing heart flutters and night sweats for quite a while. It was just done by taking blood. The results came back that I have no throid problems and the dr. associated it to nursing and stress. And since I stopped nursing the night sweats have gone and since realizing it was stress I found devotionals helped with that quite a bit.

I would suggest asking your doctor if you could have the test done, it doesn't hurt to just ask and find out. That way you can start ruling things out. Sometimes when things fester in our minds it does more harm than good.

God bless,

I was borderline Hoshimotos disease (HYPO-thyroidism) and it was horrible...

I was very exhausted feeling all the time, would go to sleep anywhere, my glands were always swollen, I did have heart flutters, was gaining weight while dieting and working out, my nails wouldn't grow, my hair was very thin (and I have very thick, course hair) and I just looked very sallow.

I know there were other symptoms but I was so young... and it was at a very trying time in my life, that I have blocked out a lot of that period.

I had a TON of blood work done constantly and was put on medication but took myself off because it made things worse. I was going to have surgery but begged my mom to just let things go the natural route. My thyroid is miraculously back to normal and has been for years. It seems to be hormone related for me... I feel those "symptoms" come back every once in a while, like when I'm nursing or pregnant... but I get my thyroid checked about once a year and it comes back normal.

Praying for ya sister!

Thank you for getting back to my post. I feel it may be hormonal too, after all the thyroid does produce hormones. So we will see. Thank you for the prayers.

I have recently (3-4 months agao) been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I had a lot of the same symptoms that JRBL had.

I was diagnosed not long after my DS was born, I was tired and having dizzy spells, so I went to the dr. He did some blood work just as a precaution since I hadn't had any done since I was in highschool (8 years ago). It came back showing that I was SEVERLY hypo (like I should have been in a coma). They began medicating me immediately. I had MAJOR weight fluctuations. I went from 150 (post pregnancy weight) to 129, then back up to 148 in a matter of a couple of weeks. I was exhausted, losing tons of hair, my nails were in bad shape, and I was just not healthy.

Well, I then went to a specialist a couple of months ago, and it turns out that my thyroid problems are due to my pregnancy, which is somewhat common. My thyroid problem is beginning to regulate, and soon I should be able to come of the medication completely, PTL.

I don't know if this helps, but if you have more questions that I may not have answered, please feel free to ask.

I hope you feel better soon!- Kendra
