For about 3 days now I have been having the sound of blood rushing in my left ear. (Sounds like the womb) it doesn't hurt or itch...feels maybe a little more muffled. Anyways I am wondering if this is common during pg from the increase of blood flow, or maybe it is an on comming ear infection. I just have never experienced this before and it is really annoying.

I'd advise you to have it checked out. I don't recall hearing that as a preg. symptom, nor have I experienced it. Sometimes later during preg. (especially during allergy season) you get more congested than usual. Everything swells including nasal passages. I sometimes feel like my ears are "blocked" and this sensation comes and goes. Let us know how you make out!
Blessings,
Beth

I've had this from around the end of the 1st trimester. It doesn't happen all the time, but every once in a while. I thought it might have been a high blood pressure thing since that is a common symptom, but I check my blood pressure during these "episodes" and it's fine. My bp is actually lower now then it was before I was pg. I've been fine.

Thanks for posting this Becky! I had this a couple of weeks ago myself but didn't think anything of it, just thought I hadn't cleaned my ears out real well!

But YES it was exactly as you described. It went away and I have't had a reoccurence.

Interesting now when I think back on it!

It's a pregnancy thing. Usually happens nera the beginning of the 2nd trimester and can last throughout the pregnancy. It IS caused by extra blood flow and increased sensitivity in our bodies. I had it REALLY bad with my first pregnancy during the last trimester, but so far nothing with this one.

Still might want to have your doc check out your ears next visit if it doesn't get any better, but I would just chalk it up to be pregnant.

I had it really bad a couple of weeks ago, and everyonce in a while now. I found it highly annoying, as it was difficult to sleep on either side when I was constantly hearing that sound (and feeling it)... :? No rest for the weary ;)

Thanks ladies I feel a lot better about this. I figure if it is still going on when I have my doc appt I will talk to her about it. But in the meantime I feel a lot better.

grrr, ok I am reposting. The sound of blood flow has not stopped...it isn't always constant especially if it is noisy, but GRRR it is anoying. I talked to my midwife on my last apt, and she said I must be sensitive to the increase of blood volume. I just hope this goes away sometime soon.
