We have had potty training problems with Rhiana pretty much from the get go. But this last christmas she surprised us be pooping on the potty. We were doing really well. I was so excited. No more dirty panties to clean. Well about 2 weeks ago she has regressed. Now majority of the time she will poop in her panties. If we catch her and put her on the potty she will poop on the potty. she knows what she needs to do. Does anyone have suggestions as to what might work to get her back on the potty?

I do know that some kids so regress but after we worked so hard to get her potty trained this can be discouraging at times.

We are just starting the PT journey here. No advice. Just hugs. Lots and lots of hugs!

Hi Crystal! I would probably start with talking to her about it if you haven't already. She's 4.5 and should be able to communicate with you about it at least a little. Ask her why she has stopped using the toilet. Maybe she has a reason (ie. I'm busy playing, etc) and then you can work with that? Also, I don't know what 'angle' you've been taking with her up until now, but with Fiona, after much trial, we ended up having to deal with 'regression' as a discipline issue (controversial, I know, so take it for what it's worth..... my experience only) and in the end that was the only thing that worked. I hope something changes for you soon!
