Hi,
My dd is going to be 2 years old in April. I would like to do an Elmo theme party. Also activity ideas for 2 year old children would be great too. I am hoping it would be good enough weather to take them to the park and then have a potluck afterwards? Is it okay to ask people to bring a dish? If it is not good enough weather to go outside then I need ideas for indoors.
Thanks.

I'm going to share a few ideas that I have from being in charge of toddler Sunday School; maybe they'll help. It's not necessarly Elmo related, but it's the best I can do.

Door Hangers - Buy foam door hangers at a craft store, help the kids decorate with foam letters (their initials or something) and maybe some Elmo stickers?

Shakers - Plastic Easter eggs and beans, seal them with masking tape and decorate with an Elmo sticker. Then use the shakers to play a game with the kids. Have them shake along to the music of a kids' song, then they're supposed to freeze when you stop the music. (I don't make it a competition, though, 'cause they're too little for that, IMO.)

Parachute - Buy a parachute like this (http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=browse&origin=OrderStatus.jsp&event=link.itemDetails&mode=Browsing&sku=61/3000 and have them bounce a stuffed toy on it. Or not, lol. My toddlers love just playing with the parachute, whether I put the toy on or not. :)

Ball - This may sound like a silly game, but I get an inflatable ball and take turns rolling it to each child, then have them roll it back to me. They love it, plus it teaches them about taking turns.

Collage - Cut out different pictures of something, like Sesame Street pictures, and have the children choose a picture and then have them help you glue it to a piece of posterboard. The birthday kid can then have it as a souvenir of the party to put in his/her room, if you don't mind it being there.
