View Full Version : Off Schedule--Help!
My ds was sleeping through the night (9pm-5am) for about 2 weeks. He was also on a pretty good nap schedule of about 6 hours of naps a day at pretty regular times. The past week has not been good! He is not sleeping much during the day and he has been up at night and he will not go back to sleep. I am worried that he is over tired. I am not sure if I should wake him if he sleeps too long (over 3 hrs) during a nap or if I should put him to bed earlier at night...any suggestions? I am thinking he might be teething or maybe this is a growth spurt?

I was thinking growth spurt also....3 months is a big one....he may just be hungry more....
I know that with most Moms I talk to say that just when you are getting use to a baby's schedule they change it, so I wouldn't be too worried. This is a time of huge growth and development in a child, so I would almost expect things to change a lot.
I would definetly not wake him during a nap, he is young enough that his body should tell him how long to sleep, and if you think he needs more sleep, try putting him down earlier. I know sleep usually helps the child get more sleep, so that may work, but if it is a growth spurt, this too will pass!! :-D
I think you are super blessed, my DD just barely started sleeping through the night, and she is 18 months old....and she wakes most nights at least once. PTL she usually goes back to sleep on her own.
Don't worry Momma, sleep deprivation puts hair on your chest....wait, hair on our chest is a bad thing huh? LOL

Thanks, Amber. I feel really encouraged after reading your response. I think sometimes I just need someone to tell me that everything is ok!
